Just was wondering if it will get that far, or if they will treat each other like siblings, especially since they were raised from kittens. I'm asking because my sister has 2 cats, and they aren't fixed...

Yes they will! They can have two litters a year after 6 months of age and have an average litter size of 6 kittens or so. Making 12 kittens a year. These kittens won't all be finding homes! believe me! Esp. if they are black. Sadly, no-one wants black cats. They are the rejects of the cat world. I have cats that came with my house we bought it. Most cats were pregnent before they could be fixed (and my first thoughts were, what is the harm of a litter or two?) and before we could raise the money to get the cats fixed we had brothers and sisters having kittens (that looked exactly like the parents too) and we never adopted even half of the cats out.

They had kittens before we could raise money. They were our responsibility. Cats taken to a humane society generaly are only there for a week to a month and then put down. Most don't find homes.

Out of 50 cats that came of the unaltered cats left at the house we moven into, we decided to keep 12, still have 9 for adoption (and have so for years), have adopted out 15, and have lost 14 due to illness/cars/wildlife.

We fixed every female and several of our males that we have left. We fixed every adult cat that we adopted out. Every kitten but one we adopted out with vaccinations.

We've had to pay for cats getting put down, emergency surgeries, a C-section, fluids, antibiotics, and food/litter for 40 cats at one time.

Not if they're fixed. I have two like that, and they were fixed at about 4 months. My mom's cats had over 100 kittens and it was my job to find homes for them. By the time I got my own place and my own cats, I was done getting rid of kitties!

Yes they will. My sister had two cats from the same litter, they were only 6 months old when they mated. Cats don't understand the concept of siblings, all they know is hormones.

You need to get them fixed. Especially if they are siblings, though kittens are cute and you might want babies.. think about what will happen since they are siblings... it will be inbreeding and the kittens could come out deformed and have serious problems. Please get your cats fixed, it is in their nature to breed no matter if they are related or not.

Fix the cats because they go by instinct.

I've had cats my whole life, (I grew up on a farm) it is natural for sibling animals to mate. they dont really care, they will probably mate as they get older and the female goes into heat, no matter how gross it sounds

Definately. I had a pair of cats that I had been born at my house that eventually mated. She had kittens from him, but only one survived, the others were stillborn. That one actually just died this year at nine years old, we had to put her down because she had cancer.

Yes, they'll mate. it is the WORST breeding that could happen!

The most mutations occur in brother-sister matings! Safer for a mother-son, or a father-daughter mating!
