On fresh fococcia bread, layer think sliced portobello mushrooms and a thin layer of fresh, buffalo mozzerella.... at a few fresh basil leaves and then drizzle it with a good balsamic vinnagrette....... warm it, not toast it... for about 5 minutes in the over at 325.... when it comes out.... and you take that first bite... I've been waiting for someone to ask! Have a patty melt. Fresh hamburger of high grade beef, grilled until just done through and still juicy. Lots of American cheese, a little Swiss cheese for a little nuttiness, and grilled caramelized onions to layer in between two slices of good, fresh rye bread. Add a little butter to the outside of the bread, and grill the sandwich until the bread is toasty/crispy. And plenty of ketchup to dip it in, the thick stuff, not the watery store brand. A little mayo on the side, just in case.
And add some really crispy twice fried potatoeswith lot's of salt and ketchup, or some home made style onion rings, and a dill pickle , Vlasic, if you please.
Don't forget the icy cola, or a big thick chocolate shake to go with all of it.
I am sooo hungry for a patty melt, a hamburger just will not do.

The sandwich Adam Sandler made in Spanglish.

Sliced, toasted Pain de Campagne (rustic country loaf) bread, mayonaisse, 3-4 slices of bacon, 2 slices Monterrey Jack, 4 slices tomato, 2 leaves butter lettuce, 1 fried egg.

The movie is worth watching just to see him make the sandwich.

It's a little odd, but it is my favorite part of Thanksgiving.

You need two slices of my homemade bread. Unblesched flour, honey, real butter and egg make it the yummiest possible bread for this sandwich. Spread each slice with a very thin layer of softened real butter. On the bottom slice, place slices of moist white meat turkey, roasted with sage flavored cornbread stuffing from my grandmother's special recipe. On top of the turkey, add slices of jellied cranberry sauce or sppon on homemade whole berry cranberry sauce. Now the odd part: add about a half inch thick layer of that tasty cornbread dressing and top with the second slice of bread, butter side down. Slice in half and achieve ecstacy eating this. I actually like this better than the hot turkey.

A variation that is good even without the stuffing is the same things but substituting lingonberry preserves for the cranberry. (The desparate can use stove top, but it's just not the same.)

Mmmm-good question. Ok, First you took 2 thick doorstopper slices of bread and one thin slice of bread, white.
Toast the thin slice-this is the middle section to seperate your sandwich into a tripledecker.
Bottom layer-juicy chicken breast with a smearing of cream cheese, a hint of lettuce-the warmth of the toasted middle bread slice will melt the cream cheese ever so alightly into the chicken.
The top layer will have turkey breast slices, a tiny smearing of cranberry sauce for tingle in the mouth. Mozarella cheese over this which too would slightly melt into the turkey and give a warm welcoming YUM to your bite.
Christ! I'm running to the kitchen NOW!!!!!!

Start with a slice of lightly toasted white bread. Slowly spread on about 1/8 inch of mayo, then drizzle on some honey mustard. Gently fold 4 slices each of honey ham, smoked turkey, peppered roast beef, salami (both dry and cotto), and arrange them on the bread. Each layer of meat should be separated by a slice of cheese: American, swiss, jack, pepper jack, and colby. Next come the veggies. Fold 3 leaves of crisp iceberg lettuce onto the bread, followed by two thin slices tomato. Add 3 tiny slices of cucumber, some chopped red onion, sliced olives, fresh mushrooms, and some pickle slices. Give it a dash of salt and pepper, a quick squirt of vinegar, and a dash of onion powder. Top with sliced wax peppers. Add more mayo to the other slice of toasted bread and close up the sandwich. Gently place into the microwave for 6 seconds. Serve with a bag of Doritos. Take one big bite, then open the sandwich and place a layer of Doritos on it. Close it up and enjoy your sandwich!

I'm freakin hungry now. :)

Manda's spicy roast beef, topped with fresh olive salad from Radosta's restaurant in Metairie, La, and dappled with Gulden's mustard on a lightly toasted pistolette.

By the way, I'm a vegetarian, but not where this sandwich is concerned

I made this one today. 2 halves of foccacia. Loaded with a chicken salad mix that contains mayo, pulled chicken breast, a palm full of pine nuts, diced yellow tomato and segmented orange fruit wedges with a squeeze of lemon juice put in this concoction for additional flavor which rests on 2 large Romaine leaves.

(If I would have added chopped up bacon to the sandwich then the flavors would have been made that much better!)
