What to talk about?

Me and my boyfriend seem to have alot of ackward pauses when we are together. I like him alot and we have alot of fun when we do find interesting things to talk about. But i don't know too much about him. He always says he has a boring life and there's nothing to talk about him in his past or now, but i want to know more about him. I dont know how to bring up conversations where i can find out more about him. We always just talk about current stuff now with our friends or computer games and stuff that he's interested in and currently playing (we both kinda like games alot but we're not geeky or anything i promise =P). Any Suggestions?

see my dear friend, first thing is, there is a lot of difference between love and like,
from the question you posted, what i can say is your bot friend loves you, so he doesn't want to hurt you by saying his past.(he might have some love failure in the past- which he thinks might hurt you and take you away from him)
if you really love him, say him that, "i don't care about your past and i wont let your future repeat your past". give him some confidence that, even if he says about his past, you wont leave him.
after that don't ask abou his past, he himself will tell his past to him.
