After awhile, the sperm inside of us builds up & it weighs us down so much. We need to release it.

Basically, a lot of why we do it is stress reliever. I mean 90% off the time there is going to be no sex during that day. (if you are married or co-habitating) so it is there and we 'do what we do'. We become fascinated with our penises when we are really really young and understood that if we do certain things to it then it feels good, just like women do. I mean if you believe that men think about sex like, what?, every 3 minutes or less then you have to believe we masturbate so much so not go crazy.
