OH I can't count that high!!! LOL

With my 3 kids it's minutely!!!

They just don't LISTEN!!!

Daughter isn't so bad she mostly LISTENS. It's the BOYS that get on my nerves!!!

I have been ONLY yelling ONCE then getting up & taking care of the problem. That does seem to help WHEN I DO IT!!! LOL

Just ignore most of what your child is doing that rubs you the wrong way. Pick your battles & don't sweat the small stuff.

Now? not very often at all - They are 16,17, and 19. My 19 yr old is away at college, my 17 yr old is working this summer. and my 16 yr old has never needed to be yelled at very much at all.

18 years ago? Different story let me tell you. Boy did I yell. I was quite accomplished at it too. Our children just hits nerve spots with us. Most of the time it's because they are very much like us.

I really don't believe these mothers that say they "NEVER"
yell. I believe they might not yell much, but all mothers yell a little. (Unless they have a nanny, then she's in charge of the yelling.)

All joking aside, if you find yourself yelling a lot just be sure a little later (for the really young ones, much sooner than later or the will forget) you go to the child or children you yelled at and explain what mad you so angry, admit yelling is a poor way to handle things and apologize for frightening them or hurting their feelings, then use that opportunity to deal with punishment if called for.
This is what I tried to do with my boys. For the most part it worked out well.

So, like another person said sift through the chaff, deal with the really big stuff and let the small stuff slide. She's right -- We just have to pick our battles sometimes.

God bless -- give em a hug for me!

Yelling should only be used for life-threatening situations. Punishing your kids (not physically) when they don't listen is more like it. Take priviledges away like toys and games. Better yet, give your kids some playtime attention so they know you still acknowledge them as people.

If you yell at them all the time they will grow up yelling back at you. That's how it works.

every minute, because she does not listen. I have to repeat
everything I say. I feel like running away. It's either that or she has to go some where else. No lie. I hate the fact that she don't
listen she rather be nosy and check to see what I am up too.
Like now she standing right behind me reading everything I'm
doing. There's not a minute that goes by that I have to tell
to do something and she ignores me. She 9, and I told her
either you listen or move out. My grand-daughter is just like her
and she's just 3.

today my 1 year old grapped my 3 year old by the piggy tails then smacked her and was getting ready to bite her just before I grabbed her. Believe me some days all I do is yell. But dont worry, there are days when they are angels. You just have to try (sometimes really hard) to remember the cute stuff.

Yelling only alienates your kids. They tend to feed on it and cause more yelling. Strict immediate punishment is your better choice.
