I have a One Year Bible and was wondering if it is ok to highlight scripture that I really like while reading. I sorta feel funny about writing in a Bible! thanks.

Go write ahead! (pun intentional) :o)

The Bible contains God's holy message to us but it's a book designed to be studied and absorbed. Whatever aids you in that process is perfectly fine.

Why don't you download the e-Sword software from the Free Stuff page @ http://web.express56.com/~bromar/

It comes with the KJV with Strong's numbers so that when you run your mouse pointer over the numbers you get a box showing you the original Greek or Hebrew words. You can also download many other versions of the Bible and compare different translations. Plus there is a KJV concordance, commentaries, the Interntional Standard Biblical Encylcopedia and much more, all for free!

Of course! I always look at people's bibles to see how used and worn looking it is.. The more marked up it is and the more worn it is... the more I know they love the Lord!!! ( I realize their are exceptions)

... and if you highlight the ones that speak to you now, it will be intresting in the future when you look back on it what did jump out at you then compared to what jumps out at you now!

Also just a side note... God is a very personal God... he's like the most loving Father you would ever have met... He's your Father... and he would love for you to highlight what he's trying to tell you!!!

God bless you!

NO! Highlighting is wrong! It is as if you are saying that certain parts of the bible are more important than others. All of god's words are equally as important as the next and none should be given more attention than the next. Leave it alone. Why even take the chance of angering god? If you want to refer to something again, write it on a separate piece of paper, don't vandalize the holy book!

Highlighting is OK. I think it helps you to learn verses. And when you are studying the bible its a great way to find what your looking for incase you need to look it up again.

NO, it is not wrong to highlight verses in your Bible. I've found that it is the best way to remember the verses that are encouraging, your favorite verses

That is one of the best ways to learn. If you saw my Bible, I doubt you could read it. hahhahahahaa

I have so many notes in it, I have all the white covered up.
lol

BUT......There is always a time, you will need it and don't have time to go fetch a document.

Great Question.

I kind of felt the same way. I use post-its to mark the verses. The last answer was just mean. It makes me feel sorry for people who don't want to know the Lord but feel the need to say bad things to people who do. Guess they just want their points. I'm sorry that that had to be your first answer.

It's ok, infact we should have Bibles that shows we take notes, read often, but at the same time respecting it and keeping it neat.

Just keep it neat.
