Well once again, then one of two things will happen.
1. God will care more about whether a person is a good person and I will be in "heaven".
2. God will be egotistical and care more about being worshiped, in which case all those murderers, child molesters, rapists and general bad people, who have repented will be in heaven and I won't be. So since I would want nothing to do with anyone who finds these things OK as long as someone says sorry didn't mean it and believes in God, then it won't matter in the least.

God may indeed be real, but that doesn't imply that she's going to punish you for non-belief ... or they may be many Gods ... or there may be none. A major problem is that so many religions and scriptures claim to have the absolute, complete, exclusive truth on who God is and what God demands of us ... yet these sources disagree considerably. Maybe one is more correct than the others, but more likely that all are pretty much off the mark, especially when God is depicted as a childish tyrant with bi-polar disorder.
I would expect a creator of this vast Universe to be truly superhuman, not subhuman in character, i.e., petulant, vengeful, cruel, destructive, playing rough games with his/her tiny creatures ... that doesn't make sense, except from the standpoint of creating terror so that God's self-appointed human spokespersons can gain control over their betters and use them as a mob to rule over the rest. A lot of history is exactly this story, tragically.
In fact, I do believe, in the sense that I cherish the great and eternal myths that are deeply embedded in our culture. The Christian myth is a retelling of a timeless story, and I can embrace the constructive and beautiful portions, but not all of it. Same for other religions too ... I will accept what is good and ennobling there, while leaving aside dogmas that don't seem to mesh with the positive elements.

It's like for instance I believe in God and in my opinion it would be better to believe God is real and find out he isn't than to not believe he is real and find out he is.
Yes I believe God is real and I think those who don't believe will be in for a big suprise when they find this out at Death as well as when they have to face God on Judgement Day.

If I was not certain that I was correct, I would go for that. If I bought what you are saying, I would be joining just in case. Does that still count? You would not be a believer, but part of the church.

If God is real then God should have told me that he/she/it existed not play hide and seek. It is God's own fault then, so he/she/it can't hold me to blame for not believing in it.

Hmm, that is genius!!! Wouldn't have picked that up from ... Pascal? Nahh, couldn't be...
So would that make god happy? If I chose to worship him just to cover my bases? Do you think he know the difference? Really now...
"Oh I see you chose to believe in me!! That's just grand!!"
(Me, crossing my fingers behind my back) "Yeah, that's the ticket!"
