My girlfriend was diagnosed with mono a couple days ago, and she had the symptoms a week before she was diagnosed. But she feels fine now, and is practically symptom free, annddd what's even weird is that I haven't had any symptoms of any illness. She had a sore throat, was low on energy and a fever. What's y'alls oppinon?

i had mono when i was younger.....i had it for 4 mnths.

one minute i would feel fine, then the next minute i felt like i came down with the flu.....i got feverish, sick to my stomach, weak, and just plain tired, all i wanted to do was sleep. my bfriend at the time didnt show symptoms until a few months later after i had it. it takes more than a week for your body to get rid of mono even with antibiotics. that is why they also call it the "kissing disease". it is spread through kissing, or drinking or eating off of someone's food that has mono. and it is very contagious.

If you have mono... you definitely know you are not feeling so right. Generally you are tired alot... dragging yourself around.
Sleep loads and get sick with every little bug that comes around.
It affected my throat as well and I got tonsilitis at the same time.
I don't remember having a fever other than when my tonsils were inflamed. I had it for 5 months. No fun. Blood tests are usually done monthly to see if you still have it. Everybodies different but tiredness is definitely a big one.

Mono is extremely contagious. and will stay in her systom for life. It will always appear and can kill if not treated. It's worse then strep throat.

Symptoms are normally fatigue and a sore throat etc.

Usually takes 60-90 days from exposure for an incubation period. You are not out of the woods yet.
When you get past the 3 months mark, then I would consider myself "safe" at least from her exposure. Though you could have gotten it and have stayed asymptomatic.

if the doctor diagnosed mono, then it's propably mono. it does drain all of your energy. it does stay in your system for 6-12 months. that doesn't mean that she is contagious. it will show up in her system for that long.
