Just take some canned tuna. Throw it in a pan and fry it for a while. Add whatever you want, if you want. Get two slices of bread, put some cheese on them and warm them up and then put the tuna between those two slices and you have your tuna melt.

It is basically a cheeseburger with tuna instead or think of it like a tuna sandwich (with cheese) but it is a hot sandwich not a cold sandwich.

It depends if you want your tuna melt fancy or not. If you want it fancy, then get your tuna and mix in some finely chopped celery and tomatoes or whatever veggies you like. Then put your fave cheese on your bread and grill it with olive oil or butter and then put the tuna on the bread and continue grilling until warm. If you don't want it fancy then don't mix the veggies w/ the tuna and just grill the sandwich with the plain tuna and cheese.

My sister used to work in Disneyland and made tuna melts. She had a mixture of tuna, celery, pickles and mayonaise. She put the mixture in a bun, put a slice of cheese (American) on top and then a slice of tomato. Put the other half of the bun on, wrap in foil and put in a 350 oven til the cheese melts. That's probably about l5-20 minutes.

Open face or full sandwich, it is bread, tuna, and cheese, grilled. Drain the tuna well, put a slice of american cheese on both halves of the bread. Put the tuna on one slice, close the sandwich, butter it on both sides, and grill, or pan fry. Bon appetite.
When we discuss patty melts, call me. That's my fav.
Condiments are up to you. Mayo, or tartar sauce might do.

Mix drained canned tuna with a bit of mayo - I like to add chopped onion, but you can add green pickle relish or chopped celery. Spread on a half bun or piece of bread. Top with cheese and broil til bubbly.
