I am amazed that I quit drinking pop about 2 years ago. I have been drinking iced tea sweetened with Splenda because as hard as I try, I can only drink so much water. The tea seems to be curbing my appetite a bit. It fills me and I dont get so hungry. I drink a small amount of skim milk in the morning with oatmeal sweetened with splenda.
I dont want to be using the splena if it is bad for me. I cannot stand iced tea not sweetened with either equal, or something.

while water would be the best thing to be drinking, tea with splenda is a good start. Just know that tea does still contain caffeine - which is actually a diuretic and causes you to shed water - thus dehydrating you more than hydrating. I believe they now have several products (including crystal light) that contain splenda and/or nutrasweet that can be added to a bottle of water...these would be lower calories than pop, and no caffeine. You could try replacing a couple of your teas with something like that and see how you like it?

Congrats on quiting pop and yes tea is a good substitute I wouldn't recommend the splenda for you though try a natural CANE SUGAR. It isn't the sugar that is bad it is the amount of sugar if you just cut down on the sugar a natural cane sugar is fine. The cost is about the same as the splenda plus cane sugar is ALOT sweeter than plain sugar (hint if it doesn't say CANE SUGAR it isn't cane sugar) so you don't have to use as much.

yes, it is but tea will get boring very fast as well, green tea will help you cut a little extra weight due to the thermogenic properties that it holds

Propel as suggested above has a lot of sugar in it (sweeteners) stay away from it Same with Coke Zero just because something has zero cals and carbs doesn't mean it isn't filled with artificial sweeteners if you're not in mid activity same way you wouldn't drink Gatorade while laying around watching TV.

It's good that you switched. Tea isn't nearly as bad for you as soda is. I don't know if Splenda is bad for you or not. If it contains Sodium Benzoate I wouldn't use it though. Personally I prefer a little bit of real sugar, or honey. I'm a little iffy on artificial sweeteners, but I know too much sugar is bad too. But I wouldn't worry too much.

Splenda is man made and a chemical. Why do you want to put that into your body?

Try natural flavored seltzer water. There are many brands that are available that are just sparkling water and natural fruit flavor added. Poland Spring for example has flavors like mandarin orange, raspberry lime, lemon etc.

i think what you are doing is a good substitute. i use splenda in a lot of things too. you hear so many different things about splenda, good and bad but i think what you are doing is a lot better than drinking all that soda!

you know there's this new drink called COKE ZERO. it's absolutely 0 calories and 0 fat. I think it tastes almost like the actualy coke. but if you don't want to go back to drinking pop, tea is a good alternative. In history, chinese people drank tea after eating because it helps digest and usually helps maintain your metabolism. It also is really good for the body. but it depends on the tea. don't drink that new fatty sugery substance. tea doesn't really appeal to me

Well tea isn't a good substitute if you want off the caffeine. If you do want off the caffeine I suggest flavored waters like Propel. They taste like pop, but they don't have the sugar in it.

Tea is OK but it still contains caffeine so does not completely cover for water.
