He didn't need a Savior.
You only need to be a Christian if you are interested in salvation.
God so loved the world that He sent His Son that whoever believed in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
If you want to be redeemed, you have to accept the conditions of redeption.
Try redeeming a coupon (even one where you get a gift perfectly free of charge) without meeting the conditions or going to the store to redeem it.

Who said that you HAD to be a Christian?
You obviously believe that Jesus was God's son. Did you forget his last name - Christ as in Christian, as in people who believe that Christ was/is God's son. Guess what, Pilgrim. That means that you are a Christian. Any one who believes that Jesus was/is God's son is a Christian. Non-Christians do not believe that Jesus was God's son as in Jews and Muslims. You do not have to belong to any particular church to be a Christian or non-Christian.
If you are a very good person but do not believe in God, Will you go to Hell? Is there a Heaven and Hell? Would an all loving and forgiving God send some one to Hell for not believing in Him?

Jesus was born into Judaism...Christianity came from Judaism you see? The reason we are called christians is because we FOLLOW CHRIST ( coming from the word Christos) .... Christ changed alot of people when he was on earth here you know that? The reason christians are special is because we have heard the Good News and believe it!! remember we still follow what God told Moses etc. just like the Jewish people... The Jewish people serve the same God as I , they don't believe in my Saviour though, but I always keep a hope for them that they might see Christ return and believe in Him to be the real Son of God...my friend i will also encourage you to research before you dare question the Lord

No offense, seriously, but it sounds like you've been beguiled by the devil. jesus was basically the master of christianity like the whole point. Christian translates to mean "christ-like". Jesus died for our sins and redeemed us so we can except him as savior and COME to him to have our sins washed away, repent, and follow God and preach to the world as one of his commandments. You must be confused and think just because he died on the cross everyone is completely redeemed and the curse is gone, and you dont have to do anything to get into heaven, but in the bible it says heaven is a narrow path and few there be that follow while others do nothing and walk an obvious road to destruction. to be Christian is to follow God and spread his gospel. though i suppose the name christian has been dragged in the dirt by backslidders and unbelievers, and luke-warm people. I guess you dont want that label because what you think it represents. God Bless.

There are a lot of things in Christianity that defy analysis, like many other religions. Some people include the discrepancies in their leap of faith, similar to how followers of other faiths make their own LOF's.
However, some discrepancies are serious. Why do modern Christians worship Jesus in ways that the disciples never did? Why did Jesus never clearly spell out the Trinty, while referring to himself as Son of Man over and over?Where did so many disparate rites originate? On whose orders or initiatives? Who decided there would be popes? Why are there so many different versions of the Bible?
One Christian's lengthy struggle with these issues, and his attempts to get closer to the original mission and message of Jesus makes for interesting reading at www.jesusthemuslim.com
Good luck.

You don't HAVE to be anything.
If you want to be saved, though, you have to go through Christ.
Jesus wasn't a Christian because he was the Christ--that is, the entire basis of the Christian church, its whole purpose for being. Jesus could not rightly worship himself, now, could he--and still be the redeemer. He had a higher authority as well--his Father.
It does say that "God so loved the world," and it says that because of this love he sent his one begotten son so that those who believed in his son would not perish. In other words, it does say that you have to believe in Christ. That is your answer to "why do I have to be one?" You don't have to be one if you wish to perish; but if you want to live in eternity with God, it is not at all ambiguous about what you need to do.
If God so loved the world as to give you this gift, why would you want to reject the gift? Why would you wish to reject anything that God gives you?

Very good question. I hope it makes many think.
I do refuse to be called a Christian and if ask what is My religion I answer a "NO". That to me means I do allow my God to make the words of the Bible My Life and not just a way of life. I accept I can not do that but My God can do it for me.
I perceive you either study a lot or give what you read some thought. I do appreciate that outlook and concept.

Jesus is THE Christ. Christians are His followers. Jesus could hardly follow himself, now, could he?
Yes, God loved the whole world, But the whole world doesn't love God, and would be unhappy being stuck with Him forever. Why would a loving God force Himself on you?

You dont have to be. I say I am, because it shows I believe in Christ. The definiton is Christ-follower. Jesus was a Jew.
And your right, God loved the WHOLE world, every single person, enough to give us his only SOn. The catch is, believing in that is the only thing that saves you.

You are right, Jesus wasn't a Christian; he was a Jew. His disciples and appostles and those who want to be like him are christians- those who resemble the Christ.
Be careful, there are many in this world who claim to be christians, but they do not resemble Christ in any way.
Church affiliation will not get you a seat in heaven, what matters most is your relationship with Jesus.
