Why does Messenger crash about once each day under Win XP?

Messenger has been crashing on my computer almost every day for the last year or so, usually when I'm not even using the computer. But I just found a similar question with an answer that might work, so never mind. Thanks.

This is the first time & I run Windows XP

Yahoo rarely crashes for me. It does sometimes, but it's nothing like today. Usually I just sign in again right away. So... I don't know.
