after considering recent events in my life...and more importantly my feelings i'd say yes. marriage is not between parents and child and spouse...they'd have no say in the matter. if i thought i could make it work i would marry who ever i wanted reguardless of my parents views.

Sure they arent the one that has to live with the person I DO! Im the one that has to wake up every morning for the rest of my life next to this person looking at him not my parents! They dont have any say in it I would like for them to like him but if they dont OH WELL!!!

Certainly. It's my choice and my decision on whom I chose to marry...not theirs. If my mother had listened to her father, she wouldn't have married my father...and they were married 56 years, and were perfect for each other.
That having been said, you need to listen to what your parents don't approve of. It's possible they're right, and you need to listen to find out what their problem is.

Yes, I did....I married him...had two children with him....and I also divorced him......and my life is so much better now without him....my kids & I are alot happier....

Yes.But you should ask them why they don't like that person.It could be for a good reason...After all they are older and know better.
