I agree with everyone else, taking her out tells her she is running things already. All she has to do is cry for a minute and she will get her way. As long as she is not hungry or has to go potty, leave her there. Give her nice soft pillow to cuddle with.
Being in her cage is something she will have to get used too. In time it all work itself out. She will learn that is her space, her quarters.
When I first got my puppy who is now 11 months. She was 6 wks when I got her. She is pitbull. Well, I did not get a full nights sleep for 3 weeks!! Seriously!! It was just like having a newborn baby. First of all, she wanted to eat every 3 hours, so I up in the middle of the night going to the kitchen and warming her food. She was so small, I could not deny her food. As she got older she stretched her feedings and eventually....... ONE MAGICAL NIGHT.............I SLEPT THE WHOLE NIGHT UNTIL MORNING AND IT HIT ME.........I SLEPT THE WHOLE NIGHT WITHOUT BEING AWAKENED BY THE PUPPY !!!!!
No more middle of the night feedings and we both made it through. It was rough, I am not going to lie to ya.
She is probably crying because she miss her litter mates. Why is she on a trial? Once they get used to their surroundings and you, she will chill out. Right now, everything is new and different and all she knows to do is yelp out. Let her know , she is not alone and that you are there but she has to stay in the cage for a little while.
A new puppy can be trying but stay dedicated and things will be fine.

Ok, first thing is once you put her in the cage, do not take her back out because she is crying. When you do this, you are reinforcing that act. She will then know every time she yelps or crys you will take her out. What you can do if you have room for it, is put the cage in your bedroom near to your bed; this may help. Just hang in there, she will get use to it. But, you must be strong and not take her out. Just check on her to be sure she is alright. Throwing cans with coins at her is not good either. Yes this will inturrupt her, but she may continue. Why scare her when she is going to accept her cage in the near future? You can put a blanket/pillow in there for her to lay on, also what may work is a stuffed toy. It'll be ok, just try to do this. It will work and she will calm down.

When I had a dog, I bought her a small puppy that looked like her, opened the toy up and put a wind up clock inside. Placed the dog and toy in her cage and covered it. ( I always kept the light over the stove on). She eventually went to sleep and after a few months - toy was not needed.

This is normal. She's lonely. Try a ticking clock, as it reminds the puppy of the beating of the mother's heart, and something warm, like a heating pad. Her crying will stop in time. P.S. Meanwhile use ear plugs!

This is very important. She is training you. Trust me, she will whine and fuss but leave her alone. Cover the kennel with a sheet so she cant see you. Move her to the garage. She will go to sleep within an hour or two. Same thing happened to me. Good luck

i agree with everyone on the blankets, ticking clock, hot water bottle, etc. but here is a question... is her cage in the same room as you? when i got my chocolate lab pup , we put him in our room to keep an eye on him and he would cry EVERYTIME we would even turn over while sleeping. after about a week of no sleep, i finally moved him to a room on a different floor of the house and it ended that. he would only whine whe he needed to potty!! good luck!

My puppy was the same way, and coinsciencedentaly, I just put her in just now! She does nt make any noise now, and she quite likes it in there. There really is one ultimate rule:
DO NOT LET HER OUT WHEN SHE CRIES, YELPS, SCRATCHES, ECT. ECT. DO NOT MAKE THIS MISTAKE!
LEAVE HER IN THERE AND SO NOT GO TO HER.
Trust me, Ive been through this. You not get a lot of sleep for a few days, but in a few weeks she'll be fine.

if you have another room at the other end of your home that way the pup can cry and you do not have too here it because if you decide too keep the pup and you cave in and let him sleep with you he will do the same thing every night because it will know your soft when it comes too hearing it cry good luck

Be strong.I know they are cute and you want to give in but you have to train the pup.You need to feed the pup, take it out to potty, and then have about 30 minutes of playtime to make her sleepy and ready for bed. Then place her in a room alone with lights out with puppy pad inside kennel. She will be fine. Then in the morning take it out to potty feed water and take to potty again.
