There is no way you can live your life without hurting anyones feelings. Actually in the long run he would be hurt more if he know that you just stayed with him because you didn't know how to break up with him.
Be honest and kind. Say something like....."I need to let you know that I think it best that I move on. You are a great guy but I am not feeling that thing I need to continue to be a couple"
Be strong. Remember much of our emotional energy is wasted on worry.

I'm afraid there is just no way around hurting someone's feelings when you break up. I have stayed in relationships far too long because I was trying to find a nice way to break up and when I finally did leave, things were probably a lot unglier than they'd been if I did it a long time ago. I always wished that I could introduce the boyfriend to someone who could replace me, but I never could find anyone suitable. LOL

Well, theirs not an easy way of saying it without hurting his feelings even just a bit. The best thing you can do is to be honest. Just tell him that your feelings that you once had for him is not gone and you feel that you both are better apart than you are together. Just tell him that you are unhappy in the relationship and you want to move on. You tell him thats he's a great guy, but you dont want to continue the relationship anymore.
However you are feeling, just sit down and talk to him face to face...the phone thing is not a good way of breaking up either. Just tell him how you feel.

You cant. He may seem okay and all macho, but really he's gonna hurt. It may not hurt alot but its gonna hurt cuz it's one more person telling him, he's not good enough. However; to make it not hurt sooooo bad, give it to him honest. You don't want to tell him something, just for him to heal and find out the truth later (that would suck). You have been dating this guy, so you are the one who will know the best way to break it to him. Just one thing though, tell him to his face. Texting it would be cruel.

impossible, you have to hurt his feelings. and that's just the way the world is. it hurts to be dumped, but it has to be done, or you will both be miserable if you stay with someone you no longer want. People who break up with people aren't bad or evil. Their lives have changed and they just want something else now. You have to tell him that you don't want to be with him anymore, and refuse to explain why. Just say that you have changed. And you don't like him that way anymore. And stop communicating with him.

You tell him the truth, no matter what it is, girlfriend.
Men are more direct than women, and it's easier to just put it to him in black and white. There's no need to let him down easy.
When I broke up with my ex-boyfriend, I tried to just avoid him, and that just pissed him off.
They want to know WHY you're breaking up with them, and a direct answer, such as, "I'm just not feeling it, anymore. It's over" will suffice. Tell him that you had fun, but that this phase in your life is over.

Just tell him EXACTLY how you feel. Make sure that your alone or in a place where it won't be awkward. And make sure it's what youw want. Don't beat around the bush, just tell him. But be considerate of his feelings

Just don't be mean about it...simply tell him that you are just not felling the relationship...tell him the truth don't lie to him. and if you just want to be friends with him tell him that you would love to be just friends but that you cant be with him..i guess it kinda all depends on why you are breaking up with him. just tell him the straight up truth.
