Living With Parkinson's Disease
As the disease develops, a person with Parkinson's may slow down and won't be able to move or talk quickly. Sometimes, speech and occupational therapy are needed. This may sound silly, but someone who has Parkinson's disease may need to learn how to fall down safely. And if getting dressed is difficult for a person with Parkinson's, clothing with Velcro and elastic can be easier to use than buttons and zippers. The person also might need to have railings installed around the house to prevent falls.

I think your dad probably has more than just Parkinson's from what you are describing. Are you sure he doesn't have Huntington's? I don't believe that they will find a cure for Parkinson's in the next 5 years, but they may.... The stem cell research just got veto'd by the President... so it will be a much longer time before it can get properly off the ground again.

Yes. I hate to say this but were three people back in the 80's who developed Parkinson's like symptoms after take synthetic heroin. In the 90's all three had an experimental surgery that used brain cells from fetuses. This was done in one of the Scandinavian countries. The results were mixed but it did show some promise. The show was on NOVA and call "The frozen addicts" I think. The problem is ethics and greedy people. If this operation was allowed to be done people would conceive just to abort so to collect money for there services. Hard to believe but in our greedy culture this would occur.
