From what your saying a pet.
get a HAND FED lovebird that was recently weaned.
I did and it was worth the extra money he cost me $80 plus another $80 for a cage and $20 for toys, and $10 for the bird seed.
There are 3 common species to choose from Peach Face, Masked, and Fishers Lovebirds.
The peach face is the cheapest and easiest to train.
I had one named Petey years ago and he was so smart.
They need 2 hours of playtime with you outside the cage everyday, and lots of fresh fruits and veggies in addition to the seed. NEVER offer chocolate or avacado, it WILL kill them.
