"Evolution is misunderstood and was lost in the translation. What Darwin meant to say was that with each successive generation who evolve because of our different genes. He did not say we evolved from monkeys into humans. " << fellow answerer on a separate question (The_pilot).

Doesn't matter if you believe in God or Evolution, as long as you don't realize that Darwin did NOT say we came from monkeys, you don't know a thing about the man's work.

BTW I'm a Christian. How's that for rational thought?

I'm not talking about macro-evolution, here, just the evolution as described by Darwin, as in species changing within themselves. If that's macro-evolution, tell me why a Christian cannot belive that every species has adaptive characteristics (wouldn't this discredit our God who has created us so intelligently for survival?) and please, use some Bible references, not only science. I do the same for all of you. In addition, If you will only attend a high school science class, you will quickly learn that what Darwin actually recorded in his books based on his trips to the Galapagos Islands is far different from what people say he believed. That is if you actually open your eyes and ears to hear the other side instead of shrinking away because you are afraid that your faith will not hold up under it. God likes a courageous servant.

BTW if I am talking about macro-evolution, score one for the average-read.

People are parrots. 90% of them don't form opinions of their own or care to read and research before opening their mouths, they'd rather repeat each other with no fundaments or knowledge on the matter.

If people cared to learn more, we would not be having these terrible misconceptions about Darwin's ideas.

Edit:
To the person that answered below me: Darwin never regretted his life or repented in his deathbed. That's a urban myth.
Thank you so much for proving my point about parrots and people speaking without researching first.

Most people (not just Christians even) don't understand thing 1 about evolution.

1) we didn't evolve from monkeys, monkeys and ourselves share a common lineage.

2) one species does not spontaneously change or give birth to a new one. Small changes effect survivability in a species due to its ability to cope with its environment and its sexual selection... over time (hundreds of thousands of years) these changes become compounded and can cause new species to arise.

Those are the two most misunderstood parts of the evolutionary theory. People need to do their research before they discount it offhand.

Thanks for clearing that up. I agree. I hate it when I see questions like "Y do u think we came from monkeys?" Hellooo imbecile!

I believe in God too, but the science is believable. Personally I don't believe that the two theories of creationism and evolution are mutually exclusive and neither one has sufficiently ruled out the other as a valid option.

:)

It is relevant to note that...

There is no evidence that proves Atheistic MacroEvolution (without Intelligent Design)...

I used to believe in Evolution. However, over a period of time I have grown skeptical of the claims of Macro*Evolution... this is largely due to the weakness of the evidence for Macro*Evolution, and the fact that the evidence, rationally interpreted does not support the overarching claims made by Macro*Evolutionists...

For scientific and intellectual critiques of evolution, see http://www.godsci.org/gsi/apol/evo/00.html .

Good for you. Yes, there is obviously huge misconceptions among the general public about Darwins work and ideas.

And only Hindu Vedas (Hindu religious book) which is one of the ancient written books comes close to darwin theory.

I think Darwin had it right when, on his deathbed he said ," May God forgive me for perpetrating the most horrific mistake in the history of mankind."
