I try to laugh or cry. These are the natural responses to stress when they are not suppressed by society. Think about what small children do. When they are concerned about something they tried to find an adult with some attention and then tell the story over and over again until they can laugh or cry. If the adult is isn't too concerned and lets this process happen naturally, the child will laugh or cry for awhile and then go about his business. Try it. Crying does not have to be a strategy of last resort. Does the lead the others around you don't understand this process get freaked out. And don't worry laughing is just as good.

Stress is worry out of control. A great stress reliever for me is physical exercise, a healthy diet (no junk food) and time spent alone every day reading something spiritual. The best thing to do is get your focus off of the things that are stressing you and on to something wholesome. You might consider doing some volunteer work to help someone less fortunate than you. That gives me a great deal of satisfaction and keep my focus off myself. Enlarge your world, it makes a huge difference.

Deep breathing techniques. Count to ten forward and backwards. Close your eyes and meditate on the positive things in life. Reflect on accomplishments rather than set backs. Take a secluded trip to a nearby or distant attraction. Review your budget and track expenses, focusing on improving you financial status. Get a message to ease muscle tension.

Find something you like to do and do it . That will keep your mind occupied and reduce some of the stress. Also long, hot, candlelit bubblebaths. Soothing music, good company and an occassional glass of whatever you like won't hurt. The main thing is to try to relax.

Some people catch their stress, like, in a butterfly net. They catch it all and it gives them ulcers and eventually kills them. Other people let the stress flow through and make adjustments. They live longer.

I run, play my violin, answer questions on here, sleep, eat my comfort food: mashed potatoes or go out for Japanese food. Staying away from people that stress me out and occasionally saying "no" also helps me.
