A guy was driving very dangerously on the freeway, he not only tailgated me and other drivers, he high beamed me from behind a few times even when I could not change lanes. When he proceeded to pass me he cut me off really sharply causing me to almost collide with him. Is there a way to report awful drivers like this in Chicago (I wrote down his license plate)? Or anywhere else? It not only inpaired my driving (it was at night) and put my life in risk but for other people too...

Yes it is, and yes you should. Just call the police station or even 911 if you have to. Better safe than sorry.

That is really bad what that guy did. I would report him as soon as possible to keep you, and other drivers safe. But yes, I am almost sure that you can report dangerous driving in Chicago, it's really smart of you to write down the plate number. You can either tell your story to the Chicago Police Department, and file a report, or maybe even ask a DMV if there is a phone line, or place you can go to report reckless driving. I hope I helped. Stay safe out there!

In most States, you can dial *HP on your cel phone and report directly to the State Trooper as the incident happen. I know most of the Southern States have that, they used that line to report DUI etc. So you can try that, and take that license plate # to the police station and file a complain. Hope that help:)

The police are usually pretty good about these things... write a written complaint including their license plate and vehicle description and they will get to it as soon as possible or keep an eye out for the idiot

Most states have a number to report aggressive drivers. When I lived in NJ I know it was also possible to call about parents who didn't have children in safety seats. Try doing a search with your states DMV.

On New Jersey roads, if you dial #77, on a cell phone, you can report any and all hazardous driving conditions. I had to do it twice and it really works. It also works in Connecticut.
