i have a beautiful chihuahua and i think she might be pregnant. she has been chubby for a long time so i cant tell by her belly but how else can i tell? thanks =)

yea her "teats" are bigge. it was an accident even though i want her to have them. i will have her check soon hopefully. aw i'm just so excited i hope she is =)
oh and she doesn't dig cause she doesn't go outside, shes always be a clean little girl haha, and not sure why shes chubby she just has been for a long time. thanks =)

Our Pom just gave birth yesterday for the first time. Gestation is only about 60 days. She will be hungry all the time and her nipples will get much larger. About a week before delivery she will start nesting. I suggest taking her to the vet as you can have an x-ray, which is harmless or an ultrasound done for 30 - 50 dollars. We miscalculated and our Pom ended up delivering her first pup breach 4 days before her scheduled ultrasound. It got stuck and we lost it after racing her to the vet. She did have one more and it seems to be healthy but what a nerve racking experience. Was up all night bawling over that puppy that perhaps could have been spared if we would have acted more responsible. Call the vet and have her checked out.

You can take her to the vet, Also if she has been cleaning more than normal thats a sign and if the teats are swelling then thats an even bigger sign.
There are things known as false pregnancys in dogs if she hasend been around any males.

Dogs have their puppies about 60 to 63 days after being bred. Did you breed her? Was it an accident? You can have a pregnancy test ran, a human one will not work, at a vet. And you could be over feeding her and under exercising her.

her nipples will begin to swell. dogs are pregnant for 60-63 days so if it has been longer than that then she probably is NOT pregnant. If in doubt take her to the vet and have some x-rays done to confirm the pregnancy

Well, is she acting lazy? Is she digging a lot? Or is she vomiting? She'll also probably urinate more. These are just some things I know a dog goes through when she's pregnant. Good luck!

If you dont know what she bred with, I'd recommend an xray. Chi-chi commonly need c-sections because of their large heads, if she bred with a large dog (yes its possible) than you may need surgery to remove them.
