Too broad a question, Nick.

The slowest one will be about like your pellet gun or a bit faster (.22 short or .22 subsonic long rife; blackpowder flintlocks, etc.) The fastest ones will be over 4,000 feet per second.

One of my favorite deer rifles, a .25-06 Remington Model 700, discharges a 115 to 120 grain bullet at over 3,000 feet per second. My duty automatic (a Glock Model 20) shoots a 175 to 180 grain bullet at over 1,200 feet per second with 600+ foots pounds of energy.

Pistols fire about 800-1100 fps, High Powered Rifles from 2000 to 4500 fps, .22 caliber rifles about 1500 fps.

It depends upon how fast you can throw it.
