Yes. All the Bride's female friends, family, etc.. should be invited to the Bridal Shower. A bridal Shower is like a girls-only engagement party thrown by her bridesmaids.

However, a Lingerie Shower is a different story. It depends on how open the mother-daughter relationship is. A lingerie shower is where all the bride's close friends get together and buy the bride-to-be lingerie (ie...bras, panties, sexy outfits, etc...). This party is also thrown by the bridesmaids. The Bride and mother will have to work out the mother's attendance amongst themselves. The mother may not be comfortable being there or the bride may not be comfortable opening up those types of things in front of her mother. The same goes for a Bachelorette Party. That is where the friends of the bride have a "night on the town" or a "night in" just reminiscing and partying it up.

Absolutely! I would have been extremely upset if my mom wouldn't have come to my shower. Of course if you are not getting along you should probably talk to her first. Try to make amends, daughters need there moms at a time like this.

Yes; I recently got married and wanted my mom to be with me through it all. She was in all my bridal showers and I enjoyed her being there for me, showing me her support.

Yes. Any female friends and family should be invited! It's not the same as a bachelorette party...that's when you wouldn't want your mother to attend...that's for girlfriends only.

Of course she is. Sometimes she might also host the shower if the attendants are from out of town, for example.
