DROP THE LOSER!! You should never have to take care of a grown man. Beat him to it and tell your mom, you have to make mistakes, you have to learn on your own and that's the best lesson and a part of life. She'll be happy to know that you're at least ending it. Apparently you aren't happy and he's not doing anything to change that, that's all he needs to know, and you can split.
