I don't think so but if she ever gets one the parents should sit her down and tell her what she shouldn't be doing on cam.

No way, 10 years ago, when I was 15, the Internet was just becoming main stream. My parents didn't have near the knowledge that I did, and I'm sure today is no exception. I used to chat with older men, and learned things sooner than I ever would have learned had I not ventured onto the Internet "in good fun." 15 year old girls understand that 40 year old men looking at them are pedophiles, but they still believe that 23-25 year old men "just think they are pretty." We all want to be desired and we all go through periods where we experiment with our sexuality, but her parents should make sure that she doesn't experiment in a way that will come back to haunt her later in life. She still needs to be protected from herself. She'll thank them when it comes time for her "character and fitness" evaluation for the Bar Exam or Medical Board Exams...she'll thank them when the fortune 500 company she works for runs a background check and doesn't find anything. I've even heard of companies refusing to hire young co-eds after "googling" them and finding rather unprofessional "my space" pages that aren't even close to being pornographic. When she's 18 and in college...then she can do as she pleases, and she can make her own mistakes (as we all do), but not yet.

You're right! A 15-year-old shouldn't have a cam, not even at this time. If she wants a cam, then she will have to wait until she graduates high school for getting a cam. With the predators out there today, having a cam there is like giving the key to a sexual predator to get into the house or into a relationship with her. If she does get a cam, she should be careful who she talks with online. Her Parents should check up on what sites she is visiting and who she is chatting with. But I would make her wait. It could probably be safer in the long run.

No legitimate reason whatsoever for teenagers to have the cams on their computers. If there's one in the house at all it should be only on a computer in a very public place like the family room, and the children shouldn't be able to access it when the parents are not home.

Generally, I would say no..... but there are things you can do to allow her cam to only work with certain people. Go to internet security and I'm sure there are options there.

With all the predators out their it is going to be a risk a lot of them out their imitate teen and younger. so you cannot tell who is really looking at you on the other end. If kids do have them It should be in the family room and monitored.

I agree with what you said. She should be closely monitored. The parents should know who she is talking to and who she is showing herself to and when they are gone, she does not get access to that camera. There are way too many freaks on the web it's scary.

well, you will have to let them experiment every once in a while. But, I don't think a 15 year old should! In fact no one!

ONLY IF SHE KNOWS WHAT SHE IS DOING AND DONT ABUSE THE THING!
ITS HARD TO TELL YOUNG PEOPLE WHAT THEY SHOULD DO WITH A CAM ON THE COMPUTER.
