losing weight is sitting around thinking about what your gonna eat. start working out, and eat appropriate sized meals.

and if you insist on eating salad. don't eat iceberg. eat dark lettuce salads with a hint of vinaigrette. only eat organic. no more eating out at the Hamburger Barn! Fresh veggies are essential.

Salads are like omelettes.....you can put just about anything in them that you like.....veggies of any kind, lean meats (crab, shrimp, chicken..you name it....but, be sure to keep it lean if you're serious about the diet, avoiding fatty meats such as bacon), many fruits are good in salads (apples, cranberries, grapes, etc.).....you can't really go wrong as long as you stay away from added sugars and fats, including dressing. Chop up all your favorites, cut 'em up, toss them together in a bowl and go for it. As for dressings, there are some great dietetic fat free bottled dressings, but one good alternative is salsa...nutritious, flavorful and not fattening. You can cut down on the use of dressings by having it on the side and either tipping your fork in it before stabbing into your bit of salad or tipping the forked salad into the dressing....getting just enough to deliver the flavor...Avoid toppings such as croutons and bacon bits....and it's hard to go wrong. You can have a pretty good serving of this type of salad without sabotaging your diet (I prefer to call them "live its" because diet is a negative word and you need to be positive to lose weight (I prefer to think of it as getting healthy). Make your salad look colorful, with fresh cut up tomatoes, shredded carrots, etc. and serve it on a small plate. Take one bite at a time and put the fork down each time as you chew and enjoy the taste. Eat at the table, not in front of the TV, etc. Get some form of exercise on a regular basis. Use positive affirmations, drink LOTS of water, and enjoy yourself. You'll shed pounds quicker than you might think possible (avoid the scale by the way and measure yourself around the butt, waste, belly and chest once a week or so)...get rid of the fattening foods in your cupboards, choose to be with friends who are supportive of your efforts, whatever those efforts are--as long as they're legal and positive-- and have faith....you CAN DO IT!!!

Loose weight?
Eat a chef salad.
You get all you need in a chef salad. Protein, vegetables, fiber, and some fat which you body needs to digest your food so you can stay healthy.
Have Fat Free dressing, like Italian or Vinaigrette are the best. You are going to get enough fat from the meat, eggs and cheese.
