Yeah, I probably spelled her name wrong. I am just watching a special on her disappearance. That was one outspoken woman! Not that I agree with her in any way but I wish I had her nerve!

She was an atheist and responsible for the movement that removed prayer from school. She was also known for her "filthy mouth" and nasty attitude. Even her friends said a more unpleasant person never existed.

Madalyn Murray O'Hair. I'd heard of her, but hadn't done any deep reading on her till this evening.

From what I've read so far, she shares some interesting character flaws with televangelists.

It's weird.

Mrs. O'Hare was the woman that filed suit against a school district that eventually made the U.S.Supreme Court that removed prayer from public schools.(Her son's been fighting to get it back ever since he grew old enough to do so....)

She died years ago and false claims have appeared on the Internet that she is trying to get Christian shows off television (Touched By An Angel).

Her son was murdered with her, actually - as well as her granddaughter.

She was someone that definately had some balls. I appreciate her so much for what she did... even if she was a little over the top sometimes.

You know, she's been dead for over ten years and still gets blamed for things that are going on now. Like petitions and whatnot. I don't know a lot about her, but I do know that there are several urban myths about her.

yes, I know about her. Once of her sons became a Christian and then a Mormon. He said his mother was mentally sick because of her hatred of religion, all religion. He

But I agree, she did know how to get heard.
