No, I never did that. I got a nice border. Picked two different colors from the border, and applied one above the border and one below. It looked really great. It was a baby simba border, and I got the big stickers for the walls.

I think it would be fun for you to just do it yourself, unless you don't have the time. Pick up a JCPenney's baby room catalog. You can get everything for a room from those!

Good luck!

Do it yourself is what I have done, I have done my sons room twice and my daughters room once. And it always cost around $200- $300, so I would hate to know how much a decorater would charge. Other than furniture, the bedding seems to be the most costly, which is usually my focal point and I build on from that. I paint the walls myself, make sure you get paint that is meant to washed so that you clean off lil handprints. I use Behr paint and wooster paint brushes and rollers (non shedding) If you are handy with a sewing machine, make your own decorative pillows and curtains. That will save some$$$ to go towards the embellishments such as framed art, shelving, pic frames, lamps ect.

p.s. Target has a very cute boys beach themed bedding set with surfboards on it, check it out.

I didnt have my sons room professionally done because Iam really into watching Home Makeover and Trading Spaces. Iam very good at decorating and painting but for me to do it myself didnt cost to much it spent about $300 and that was for John Deere Green.
The best thing to do is get some prices and ask around.
