relax,,dont think of anything & drink milk it helps..theres a substance there that can help us sleep

-Do not nap during the day
-Limit caffeine and alcohol
-Expose yourself to bright light/sunlight soon after awakening. This will help to regulate your body's natural biological clock. Likewise, try to keep your bedroom dark while you are sleeping so that the light will not interfere with your rest.
-Exercise early in the day. Twenty to thirty minutes of exercise every day can help you sleep, but be sure to exercise in the morning or afternoon. Exercise stimulates the body and aerobic activity before bedtime may make falling asleep more difficult
-Keep your bedroom peaceful and comfortable
-Keep a regular schedule
-Relax for a while before going to bed
-Don’t eat a large, heavy meal before bed
-Never oversleep

If this doesn't help then your friend may have a sleeping disorder

Try going to sleep and waking up at the same time every day. Normally when you can't sleep it is because you have too much on your mind. Try thinking about suntanning on a desserted island all by yourself. Hold this thought......

Advise her to see a doctor.... or

tell her to drink warm milk, tea, and listen to easy smooth music(like nature sounding).

oh a lava lamp might help her as well:). Turn off all lights except the lava lamp while listening to the soft music. She can stare at the lamp while she listens. That might ease her mind and relax her.
