Don't scratch.... the number one way to stop the itch is to not think about it and not scratch it... If you avoid scratching a Mosquito Bite for the first thirty minutes to an hour the swelling and itching generally go away...

The act of itching cause the histamine reaction to continue... so if you avoid itching it goes away...

And for that itch that just doesn't seem to stay scratched... take your finger nail and gently press on the top of the bite in an "X" pattern... repeat this every time the itch comes back... it avoids tearing the skin and doesn't seem to trigger the histamine reaction as often...

try Colgate tooth paste it will cool the area and pull the poison out as far as drying up after swelling goes away take rubbing alcohol and soak a Cotton ball put a piece of medical tape over it and leave it on for 48 hours and it should be gone but if it is a mosquito bite just use the tooth paste it should work fine to dry it up .OK some thing else if this bite turns a dark color such as purple or black seek medical assistance immediately it could be a spider bite [black widow , brown recluse]

Try After-Bite that should work. If not You Could Try Neosporin. But If They Both Don't Work you Should Go See The Doctor.

Hope I Helped

Several things: Cleansing Swabs of isopropyl or wound cleansing alchohol. Hydrogen Peroxide, low volume or any anti-itch cream should do the trick. Don't break the skin though!

ok best thing works for everything is hydrocortisone cream its amazing and gets all the itching away. also it dries it out and takes out the poison in otherwords stops the itching.
a main active ingredient in hydrocortisone cream is cortisol;
Cortisol is synthesized from pregnenolone. The conversion involves hydroxylation of C-11, C-17, and C-21, the oxidation of C-3, and the isomerization of the C-5 double bond to C-4. The synthesis takes place in the zona fasciculata of the cortex of the adrenal glands. While the adrenal cortex also produces aldosterone (in the zona glomerulosa) and some sex hormones (in the zona reticulosa), cortisol is its main secretion. (The name cortisol comes from cortex.) The medulla of the adrenal gland lies under the cortex and mainly secretes epinephrine and norepinephrine under sympathetic stimulation.

The synthesis of cortisol in the adrenal gland is stimulated by the anterior lobe of the pituitary gland with adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH); production of ACTH is in turn stimulated by corticotropin-releasing hormone (CRH), released by the hypothalamus.

ok well thats scientific stuff but it basically goes into ur pores where the bite is and where the bug bite bit u.
it really works just trust me. its cheap. u get soo much use out of it from chicken pox, to poison ivy, to ant bites, to bug bites. its really great. you use like a tiny bit for each treatment its amazing

Soak it in cool water. It'll stop releasing histamine with cool water, and give you some relief. Or use an ice cube. Warmth releases the histamines, though, and causes it to itch more.

I would not use meat tenderizer...too $$$! Use BAKING SODA! Make a paste and dab it on the bite. Keep doing it because the paste will get dry...but this is cheaper than the tenderizer!
