I researched Cannon when I bought mine. It seemed to have everything! It cost a little more than I wanted to spend at the time, so I ended up with a kodak easyshare. It works great. So easy to use. It has video capability and speed pictures. It can snap 3 pictures in a row (which I used at night to snap a pace setter during a ski competition) and got awesome pictures. The size of the memory card determines how many picutres the camera holds. Digital cameras don't usually come with very much space on their own. When you want to download pictures to your computer, you plug the wire into your computer and into you camera and they automatically transfer. Really simple and really good. And the camera is a good quality.

I just recently bought a Kodak EasyShare V550. I really love it, my only complaint is that the inside pictures are kind of dark until you find the right setting. It takes AWESOME outside pictures. It has a special setting for taking pictures of sports when the object is in motion. This camera only has a optical zoom of 3 times, and 4 digital. The camera doesn't take that good of pictures when you get into the digital zoom.

My parents have a Sony that takes really good pictures too. If I were you I would either get a Kodak or a Sony, but that is just me.
