Not to worry, Pancha, there will be no wall; Jeb Bush will be the next president of the USA, and pro-amnesty will be the order of the day. A wall would be a bandaid, Mexicans are ingenious and will figure out a way...they always have, and I like it that way.

It was built for defensive purposes. It made their country more difficult to invade. Armies were stationed along the wall as a first line of defense against the invading nomadic Hsiung Nu tribes north of China (the Huns). Signal fires from the Wall provided early warning of an attack.
What does that have to do with the illegal immigration issue the USA is facing today, 21st century, 2006? Does it have something to do with the fence? Well, Pancha, many countries have fences to deter invaders and military guarding the line. If Mexico keeps allowing people to illegally enter the USA that line could possibly be our next DMZ.

Well this really depends on your viewpoint---on the one hand--China is still controlled by the Chinese---says something for the success of something --huh--and the invaders that actually made it in and caused the largest damage to the inherent Chinese culture certainly didn't arrive by the route of where the wall stands---it was the British--and the Japanese both came by way of the sea

But the wall is one of the seven wonders of the world---actually so large that it is visible from space orbit----and one might say here that the wall actually has had a history of INVITING A CERTAIN INVASION OF ANOTHER SORT---tourism----tens of thousands of visitors from all over the world visit this man-made wonder every year and the positive economic input of that alone is one reason that the Chinese do not particularly have any negative vibes about this invasion in the least !!!!!

For many years yes but the Mongols went around it because it wasn't complete that is to say it did not extend far enough. Where as a wall from the gulf of Mexico to the Pacific and guarded and protected would work. Nice try Pancha, a but we are a bit more advanced than the Chinese were then. And I guess that you are equating the illegal immigrants from Mexico to the Mongols invaders who wanted to conquer China for their riches. And Also the Mongols became embroiled and entangled in court intrigues and eventually left. So you admit it that Mexico is in the process of invading the United States to eventually take over isn't that right? But instead of being brave an up front about it they do it with women and children and uneducated peasants and farmers instead of with the Army.

Not at all. Most invaders simply bribed a guard.

No, but it's pretty cool looking. I have a feeling if we built a wall, though, it would be hideously ugly.

It worked pretty good until illegal immigration destroyed the country from within.

Not very, and it's not going to be effective here either, because it won't happen.
