Arrange a meet and greet between your dad and the dog. It hopefully will melt his heart. I own 4 cats and 2 dogs. My husband always told me, we're never getting any pets. So I fostered for awhile. They won him over and found permanent homes.

Talk to your Dad (the key word here is "talk" not whine) in a mature, adult manner and ask him what his objections are.

Tell him that you are willing to co-create and sign a document stating exactly what his expectations and your responsibilities will be toward the care of the animal. Tell him that you realize that this will be a daily, long-term commitment (if in fact, you do) and that you are willing to sign an agreement laying out your specific responsibilities.

This will show hiim that you are serious.

If he still says no, respect his decision in a mature manner (no whining) and take the initiative to prove to him that you are responsible and trustworthy enough to handle a pet. This will take time, probably a few months.

Then return to your Father and make him aware of the things you have done to earn his trust enough to try gettnig the dog, again with the list of your responsibilities on paper and ask again.

If he still says no, respect his decision and move on. Perhaps he would consider an alternative, less demanding pet, such as a cat or bird.

Good luck! :)

I don't want to discourage u but a golden-doodle is a very high maintenance dog. I am a professional groomer and I speak from experience. They r a very active breed because of the golden in them. Their coat requires alot of attention in order to keep them looking cool. They r also prone to the ear infections that both breeds can get from not having proper ear care. Shop around. There alot of breeds that don't shed and need a good home.

Golden retrivers are quite expensive, considering they are pure-bred. Dogs needd companionship, food, water, shelter, exersice, play, training , grooming and medical care. Golden Retrivers need a good daily walk, and HDBs do not approved Golden Retrivers

me and my mom just went and bought the dog. my dad hated dogs inside, we just went a bought it brought her home. guess what it was some 7 yrs later and that dog and my dad were inseparable he would even take her bye bye.

when me and my fiance started living together my friends dog just had puppies(boston terrier) i got attached to one as soon as she popped out. for about 5 weeks straight i would bring home every book magazine anything that had a boston terrier on it, and i would beg like a 10 year old. he definetly did not want a dog inside or even outside. everytime he came home i would be reading about a boston terrier. we would be eating i would be talking about that dog. for 5 weeks straight that was all he heard. I even already named the dog and everything. he suprised me on my birthday. He loves the dog, if she so much as whimpers wrong he will rush her to the vet.

good luck

Tell him you will care for it like it was your child. Also say awww... look how cute it looks (show him a picture of the dog) and I'll train him to be the smartest dog in the neighborhood. It will also protect the house and bring joy!

Well, then ask him if he would like a female dog instead. Just kidding! Well, dogs need love from all,, if your dad doesn't wants to keep a dog, then ask your mum to take him out for dinner and try and convince him.

Persuade him. Leave him notes on his room door. Write this to him:
Dear Daddy,
My mom and I have decided to buy or adopt a goldendoodle. Please, I am desperate. I wanted a dog all my life, but you always said NO. Why don't you want a dog? Dogs are lovable, and a true companion. Dog save your lives, if you don't know. Please dad i really want a dog. If you get me a dog, I won't ask anything for christmas.

Love,
(your name)
