I wonder why God granted Einstein the genius mind to create E=MC*-I wonder why Dr. Livingston lived with the diseases he did to create cures among the people that did not believe in Christ and yet he saved them to live uponj this earth-I really don't wonder I know that no matter if all the christians in the world came together in one fantastic moment of glory and prayed that God wipe out Aids-that it would not go away until a realist-who dedicated himself to his studies and sacrificed hours upon hours of his time working with the sick and dying was able to alienate the cause and find the cure much like Vaccines have done for those of us here in America and education has done to keep us healthy-and yet you religious types will hang a vindictive title upon me that was created to cause discention and discrimination so that one being considered A or A would be cast out. Your religion is wicked in its own right and you support a God that admittedly "HAS HIS CHOSEN CHILDREN" prejudiced basta

Two hands working can do more than a thousand clasped in prayer.

I don't mind Atheist. I just try to make people understand it isn't evil. They follow some circular logic where if I don't worship their god, I must worship Satan.

I want to say that first, I am very spiritual but not at all religious. I'm not sure just how you think God works, but I believe that since we have free will that we are only given tools to have a good life. Like our intelligence is a tool. God does however work small miracles through his angels. But basically God is sitting back letting nature take its course. I can see that you have alot of issues with this subject, but just chill! It will be okay. You know those people who are fanatics? I think you might fit in that category, so at the risk of making a fool of your self, calm down. Take a walk, appreciate a Little more! Best wishes!

Right. I belive that one should beleive something only if it matches how they understand the world to work.
Don't just try to force your beliefs on reality, like the creationists who reject the evidence of evolution. Study and discover and keep and keep your beliefs open to *anything* that holds up against skeptical scrutiny.

This is realism!

I have quite come to terms with considering myself an atheist, though I admit is pretty broad--all it says is that I don't believe in a god not that I'm comitted to reason. So I don't mind 'atheist' as an identifier but I'd like a more descriptive label.

technological understanding explains the massive bang changed into no longer from no longer some thing yet from a singularity that changed into each of the count number and skill interior the universe compressed right into a unmarried factor that then speeded up immediately! So it changed into continuously the following! yet why are undesirable Christians continuously claiming the massive bang got here from no longer some thing? Are they that ignorant? Did they sleep through college or is it that they comprehend the reality yet imagine they can curl it because each man or woman is gullible?! The Pope, Catholic Church, Church of england and mainstream church homes all settle for the massive bang and evolution! Lord Carey the former Archbishop of Canterbury placed it ok – “Creationism is the fruit of a fundamentalist mind-set to scripture, ignoring scholarship and severe attending to understand, and complicated diverse understandings of actuality”! positive that Christians and atheists can agree and snigger mutually even even if that is at fundie cost! yet in the back of the laughter is the melancholy on the fundamentalists striving so demanding to smash Christianity by using turning it from a faith to an ideology! Surveys recommend that 29% of yankee Christians are so extremist of their beliefs that they fall nicely outdoors of the in many situations going on bounds of Christianity!

"Agnostic & Atheist is a slur created by christians to make non believers seem bad-Wouldn't you prefer realist?"

No, actual reality is absolute, not relative as we humans like to believe.

I believe that God gave us brains for a reason, just because I believe in Him doesn't mean I am going to stop doing research and trying to cure things like cancer and aids. This is where He wants me, using everything He's given me to combat the Enemy. Including my time, energy, and intellect working in a laboratory.

I have never looked at either of those terms particularly negatively. They simply describe your view of God or the lack of it.

The negative terms are Infidel, Heretic, Heathen, Apostate.

To call yourself a "realist" simply means you are right and they are wrong, and you really don't know that any more than they do. Oh, they THINK they know it, but they don't.

Anyway, in short, I don't have any problems with those two terms.

In reality, I think fool would suffice. Oh, and keep working on the linguistic skills, you may in the future be able to put forth a decent argument for whatever it is you believe. Hint, punctuation helps tremendously when trying to slog through your diatribes.

Actually no. Athetist is extremly accurate. Theists as per the definition believe in a god. We atheists do not. Simple English :)

I prefer 'rationalist', or 'Free Thinker'. Those terms capture more than just atheists, and also provide a sense of the reason that they are non-believers.
