It is their cute little way to delude themselves that they will somehow evade the void of non-existence that awaits us all when we die.

Does it really matter what a group of crazy fanatics have to say? I don't think you really care..... but what's important is that they have something that fulfills their life and that fulfillment brings them happiness and if believing in something brings a person much happiness and peace of mind, isn't that the most important thing?

I think it is.

Besides.... it won't cost anybody anything to believe that they have been saved. Well at the least it's better than believing that you are absolutely nothing and will go to nothing after you die.

Peace.

The same reason Christians say a lot of things. Because we are repeating the Words that God has given us faith to believe on.

Because God said so. I am a Christian by accepting Jesus as my savior, therefore, I am saved!

John 3:16-18

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Jesus saved.
They believe that Jesus will saved them not from physical death but spiritual death.

Somewhere in the bible state that

" Fear not he who destroy the body and not the soul. Fear God who can destroy both the body and soul "
Therefore, believing Jesus to be Son oF God. and as the Christ.
Stating in the Bible that Jesus will saved his believer.
Trusting In God and Him. Therefore, be saved.

All well so good from here.
Is a ticket, to heaven. Even if you murder someone in God name.
On your death bed, believer and call out his namje will be saved.

Jesus say that Not all those who call him Lord, Lord will be saved. Or those who prophecy in his name will be saved.

Is sad that christian, reject that sentence.

We shall see what God have to say about " Pious Christian".

...

I believe the death and resurrection of Jesus is proof enough for true Christians.

(Religion, by the way, is a faith in something. The fact that we did not witness the death of Jesus does not mean we cannot believe in it. The acceptance of Jesus as the messiah, the son of God who gave his own life and suffered in Hell for the sins of mankind, and the repentence for one's sins, renders one "saved". Christians believe that they can only enter Heaven through faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.)

(Considering all the other faiths out there in the world, it's not such a bad one to have.)

(But it is a damned shame when people bastardize Christianity by using their supposed faith to justify intolerance, hate, and war - all things that Jesus taught his followers not to do.)

And not one agnostic or atheist has died and proven that it doesn't. So what's your point, there? That there are things which lie beyond empirical reasoning and proof? We knew that already - that's why it's called "faith" instead of "knowledge".

Best wishes and God bless.

Jesus died, and came back from the grave... and showed that following him does lead to salvation...

There was a recently deceased rich man who made that request in Luke 16.

27 "Then he said, 'I beg you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father's house, 28 for I have five brothers, that he may testify to them, lest they also come to this place of torment.' 29 Abraham said to him, 'They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.' 30 And he said, 'No, father Abraham; but if one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.' 31 But he said to him, 'If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.'"

because God promised we would be in the Bible and the bible is the most historically accurate and there is proof all over the place that it's true, we are smart and beleive it instead of making up another religion!
