If you are looking for a digital camera that has video you are obviously not looking for a pro-grade DSLR. Which means you have a wide variety of options to choose from.
The mechanics of digital cameras have advanced so far today that whether you go with Canon, Nikon, Pentax, FujiFilm, Minolta, etc you won't notice that much of a difference. There are people out there who will argue that one outperforms another or that one produces sharper images than another, but the truth is, for what you are doing, the differences these people are talking about isn't enough to care about.
B&H Photo has a whole line of Digital Cameras that are cost effective and can do what you are asking.

Try canon.
I love my digital rebel XT.
If you want to blow up your photos to 8 x 10 or larger, don't get anything under a 5 megapixel. 6 or 7 is even better. 8 and up is awesome but a little pricey.
Also, Sony is a good up and comer in the digital market. I didn't believe it at first, but I was really impressed with the quality of color and sharpness in their line of prosumer cameras. Don't get polaroid - they stink. And Kodak really isn't that great (they're very slow).
Go to
www.bizrate.com
and search for digital cameras. You can search on a number of criteria and get the one you want. It'll also show you who's got the best price too. Read the consumers comments who rate the item too, it'll help you make a decision.
Also check
www.dpcamerareview.com
for digital camera reviews.
Enjoy!

There are many great cameras out there that can do a lot. But it all depends on what you want to do and what kind of photos you want to take. For me I have been using a canon digita rebel. cost about 800.00 and it is great. but the other person was right you should go to B&H, not only do they have many camera's, but the professionals there can guide you to the best one for a great price. That is what I love about that store they never try to get you to spend more if a cheaper product does it as well.

usually it is not in the brand.. it is in the best resolution that the camera can do. the higher the pixel the better the picture will be. you can use any brand like Canon, Fujifilm, Nikon, Kodak, etc.
