Division I colleges and universities can award lacrosse scholarships. The most competitive, and the most rewarding (both financially and competitively) are on the east coast, from mid-Atlantic up through New York, with a few exceptions scattered through the country.
Most schools don't have varsity programs yet - major colleges through the midwest and west have lacrosse, but it's at the club level. Club sports don't offer scholarships, but offer competitive lacrosse against other schools' club teams.
If you're looking for a scholarship, talk to your high school coach. He or she will know where you should be looking, or who you should talk to next.

It's not a matter of getting a scolorship for a specific sport, it's the level and size of the school you are going to play for, which factors into money awarded.
Most often, only Div 1 schools will gove scolorships to atheltes because those are the colleges most people are going to watch on TV or such. Div 2 schools have some money to allot to athletes, but it depends on the wealth of the school, and how good the team is. Typically Div 3 schools are not allowed to give scholorships, simply because the funds and competition are not as high as Div 1 & 2 schools.
Here's an example (I'm hoping you know NJ schools) If your simply a lacrosse fan, which school are you going to want to see play? Rutgers or Montclair? Rutgers is a larger more popular school, there for thier athletic program will be more popular and competitive, so they will have the money to recruit the best athletes. Where as Montclair is smaller, and less known.

i dont know its not all that famous around yet.. i mean this year the guys lacrosse team was bagging girls to join the team because if they did not have more then 5 girls our school was terminationg there budget..they never made it..in the end it was all really sad actually..but GOOD LUCK
