What are the conditions set aside(if any) that are required in becoming a Messenger for God?
Would a prophet need to have been of the same belief/religion beforehand?
What would happen if they took the job?
What would happen if they refused the job?

God chooses the messenger.

Abram (later Abraham) wasn't a real believer at the time. He was an idol maker with his father in law.

Saul (later Paul) was fighting against Christianity but God confronted him and blinded him which led him to the truth.

No just read the life story of mohamand, Joesph Smith, Jesus Christ and go from there.
You have tv, the internet, and operah so all you need is to gether a following.
For this you might get great ideas from mohamand or hitler, or jim jones who also claimed to be a prophet. You have to remember to do something to make you famous (john kennedy's only claim fame was that he got shot). It's harder to become a prophet as mohamand was with a sword, but haterd still works well for prophets.
No profits have to start a new religion. It should be one in which the poor buy into or you have to have enough time to conquer a large area of land and force your new religion down everyone's throat living there.

Muslims believe in all Messengers of God without any discrimination among them, as every known nation has a Warner or messenger from God. They were chosen by God to teach humanity and deliver His Divine message. The Qur'an mentions the name of some of them including Jews including Adam, Noah, Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Job, Moses, Aaron, David, Solomon, Elias, Jonah, John the Baptist, and Jesus (peace be upon them).

The Holy Qur'an clearly affirms that God has finally completed His Divine Mission through the agency of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Hence there is no room for a new prophet to carry the divine mission to completion

"O people ! Muhammad has no sons among ye men, but verily, he is the Apostle of God and the last in the line of Prophets. And God is Aware of everything." (Surah Al Ahzab: 40)

We believe that there is no prophet after Muhammad, Allah's Messenger, peace be upon him. Whoever claims prophethood after him, or believes in anyone claiming it, is a disbeliever because he is rejecting Allah, His messenger, and the Muslims' consensus.

You may need another Prophet if his teachings were distorted or lost. The originality, totality and authenticity of the Qur'an are well documented and proved to be intact. As long as the originality of the Qur'an is preserved by memory, printing, audio, video, CD-ROM, Internet, there is no need for another Prophet. The teachings of Islam are meant for all human beings. This was not true to the previous Prophets who came for a particular tribe, nation, or even for a particular era and area.after the death of the last prophet schoalrs convey the same prophet's message to all mankind and teach them the truth as i do now but you can not call us prophets

There are no prophets today because the Word of God is complete. Colossians 1: 25 Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God; God Word also say that there will be a judgment for all who reject the Lord Jesus Christ and what he did on the cross for all that would believe and trust in what He did on the cross for your sins. He died for your sins. Revelation 20: 11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. Revelation 20: 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. Revelation 20: 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. Revelation 20: 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. Revelation 20: 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

One doesn't. It is a burden and a blessing God placed on a few, select people. Think it was a fun job? Check out the lives of Jeremiah, Jonah, Elijah, Isaiah, Hosea, Amos and John the Baptist. Jesus was the final prophet, there were no more. No more were needed, we have the Scriptures, nothing more is needed.

You can obtain the gift of prophecy by the grace of God, but that doesn't make you a prophet per se. The age of prophets has ended, the final revelation has been revealed in the body of Jesus Christ. But don't worry if you don't have the gift of prophecy, for the Lord has made us all to fulfil his purpose.

Anybody who have a monumental ego can become a prophet cause that's what you need to be able to claim in their face without batting an eye that GOd choose you among billions of people to spread his words.

You have to be chosen by God and receive the gift of prophecy to be a true prophet.

1 Corinthians 12:7 To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. 8 To one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. 11 All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills.

It's not up to you, it's up to God who does as he wills.

To get a prophet, you need to sell more than you buy.
