I run everyday like 3 to four miles hardcore no stopping, and i eat a bowl of cerea for breakfast, and orange for lunch, and 2 pieces of boiled plain chicken for dinner. Is this going to prevent me from gaining weight now that i have quit smoking? Help plz i need tips. Also, i drink a butt-load of water probably close to a gallon.

I have only been smoking for 2 years. Maybe this increases my chances for not gaining weight

You will not gain weight just because you ceased smoking, especially when you do so much to keep fit. Hang in there. You need not worry as long as you keep exercising and dieting well. Good luck! Keep it up. :)

Only YOU can prevent forest fires...oh..uh I mean smoking!
In all seriousness...the reason people gain weight when they quit smoking is because 1. they have such a hand-mouth fixation that they need something to put in their mouth and/or 2. when they feel the urge to smoke eating I s'pose would at least give them some kind of relief (for the moment).

I quit smoking 9 years ago. You don't gain weight just because you stop. People gain because they substitute smoking with snacking. But I would keep on with what you are doing, then you will not only look and feel better. You won't smell like an ash tray.

First be very proud of yourself for tossing the cigarettes!!!! You eat very healthy as well but I'm not sure if it will keep you from gaining weight.
My husband was very scrawny all his life and he started smoking when he was 17 and he just stopped in Feb after his 31st b-day and anyway he gained a lot of weight but he looks normal now. LOL But he also doesn't eat healthy he started eating a bunch of candy after he stopped smoking. He said it helped with his nicotine craving but that did mean he gained a ton of weight.
So I say keep up the healthy eating and exercise and be proud you stopped smoking. If you gain a little weight you deserve it!!!

Weight gain after smoking cessation is a myth. Your activity level should assist you in your endeavors to avoid gaining weight, however, if you're doing those things just because you quit smoking,,,,,take a rest.

Sounds like you are doing everything right....but you may get bored with that diet, so maybe mix it up a bit with alternative foods. Congratulations on quitting smoking....how did you do it?

WiseWon is...misinformed. Nicotine speeds up the metabolism, and once it is withdrawn, the metabolism slows back down. The usual result is, of course, weight gain.
Of course, because drugs affect people differently, and only you know what your dosage was, you may or may not gain much weight.
Anyway, it sounds as if you are doing everything possible to keep the pounds away. I sure wish you the best of luck!

I was told u could smoke after 24 hours.. After tho time the clot should have settled. That's the only reason they tell u not to smoke for fear of removing the clot. I'm sure after 2 days you should be fine
