Faith will save you, however religion will form your faith and keep you from error.
Faith in something besides Truth (Jesus) will not save you. Religion help you stay the course.
It is agreed that most religions are man made, however, Jesus did found a Church and that can't be denied. The Church is the pillar and foundation of Truth and was given the job to preserve the deposit of Faith.

Uh, save you from what? See, I can believe in souls, and not believe in hell. The act of dying is another turn in the road.. part of the cycle of life. It is not something one can be "saved" from. I see people everyday here and now who are busy making their own hell, neither their faith nor their religion are helping them much that I can see.
