Cos they keep contacting you. If they maintain contact, even if it is once a week or month (probably more than monthly) they still like you and want you in their life. And they are probably hoping for a reunion - even if it looks like 'just friends'.

I think I can answer this one from experience... I can tell cuz he won't let go of MY family and/or friends...I have been seperated now since January and well he went camping with my family and then even tonight.. I went to one of my best friends houses and well low and behold... who was sitting at their kitchen table??? Yep... He says he is calling to stop by and see "his daughter" but... he just sits at my kitchen table and I continue to do what I have to do around the house.. It gets old, but he is still wanting to be back together..
so, other than always being around your family/friends... he/she gives you troubles... Always offering to help you in some way, shape or form!! No matter what the circumstance they are always willing to help you..
Will do ANYTHING you ask too....

Your ex will always still like you in one way or another unless she's found someone that she truely loves or unless you completely screwed her over and was an a**hole to her. Then she won't ever like you again.
