don't like "diet" can't seem to loose weight very well but am very interested in cutting my salt and carb intake.....Any advice? I eat mostly microwave meals, and know they aren't very good in the low anything scale but I don't buy or cook much of anything else.

Definitely talk with a doctor! They'd have more useful information than you're going to find on here. Maybe get some info about Nutrisystem if you don't like to cook. They have balanced meals (already made) and I know a lot of people have had successful weight loss with it. Weight Watchers is a great program as well, but you may have to do some cooking! Best of luck to you...! Lord Bless...

DON'T do the ramen noodles suggested. If you microwave food, until you get used to things, you could microwave frozen vegetables. They're lower in sodium too if you have high blood pressure - almost all prepared foods are high in, so don't use canned vegetables as much, but don't cut all sodium either!

Low carbs? Vegetables and legumes (not including starchy or sugary vegetables like peas, corn, potatoes, and carrots) are naturally high in fiber, and lower in the carbs that are considered "bad" carbs.

Cottage cheese and cheese are both low carb, and contain protein and calcium as well.

My personal opinion on milk is if you have it, you should have only a cup a day - it's got 13 grams of lactose sugars per cup.

Nuts are good. So are eggs.

If you are vegetarian, TVP and tofu are both high protein and low carb. TVP has a high fiber content, while tofu is just all around carb lowered.

If you aren't vegetarian - meats are naturally low carb of course.

Don't forget to watch calories too.

I am not an expert, but these are my theories. It wasn't too long ago that we as humans figured out how to make pasta, bread, sugar, coffee etc. So it is not surprising to learn that our bodies can't handle stuff like that. When I eat, I eat what I figured we ate 10,000 years ago. Fruit, vegetables, meat, fish and nuts. Nothing processed. When I eat that way, I feel great. When I don't, I feel like crap. It makes a lot of sense though. Try to think fresh. Problem with micro wave dinners is, there must be a lot of perservatives in them.

Hope this helps.

Hi and Aloha Mary, since you are on yahoo, search for diabetes/ care treatment and diet information/ which is excellent, however you really should see your doctor regularly/ and ask him for diets/ care and maintenance of your diabetes/ also request a visit with a dietician~~they can help you the most because you can provide them with information~~specific to you.

Good Luck to you Mary

There are male cheaters out there, just as there are female cheaters. Please do not blame ALL men because YOU got a lemon. Instead of wasting time harping on all men, take some time to figure what YOU could do better in a relationship next time & how you are going to choose a better man next time. Good luck.
