I received a card with a lot of signatures of people who gave money towards a gift card, I received actual gifts from individual people, management gave me a special cash gift, and I even had other co-workers out of state send stuff. Should I send a card to each person that gave a gift and a mass card be posted for the groups of people? I need to know the professional way to handle this. I am very thankful.

Send them a basket from Edible Arrangements.

It looks like a flower arrangement, made out of fruit, with a lot of fruit, so everybody in the office will have to help eat it...

If there is somewhere that a mass thank-you card can be posted where everyone can see it, that would be good. E-mail the co-workers that are out of town since they won't see the card. Sounds like you work in a very supportive place.

One thank you card to the whole group is the correct way. For the out of state people send a separate card.

Write a sincere email thanking everyone involved for his/her good wishes. Mention the event for which you received the gifts, and include a brief situational update. Group-send the email to the business email addresses.

If you know specifically who gave what, send out personal thank you notes/cards. If it isn't clear, then it would be appropriate to send out a mass email. You could also try sending out thank you cards to everyone that say the same thing. 'Thank you for your generosity..blah blah.' Thank you for your understanding. blah
