i just cease to understand why, why.. and how anyone could believe this stuff. it blows my mind. i know this may cause an uproar butttt tell me your thoughts. i just think that it is impossible that some god controls our world, its hard to belive that there arent better things for any kind of alleged superior being to be doing considering how flawed and predictable humans are, including myself mind you.

Personally I have no problem with faith, per se, as science is essentially faith-based (eg the scientific method relies on having faith that any Law of, say, physics is - very broadly speaking - based on reproduceable experimental results). What I have a HUGE problem with is organized religion, and the dogmatic, power-motivated, socialogically controlling brain washing that comes with it. The essence of organized religions is to take the stance that "I am right, and unless you agree with me you are wrong. Period." As this stance is based on faith and not emprical truth, there is absolutely no way to argue with it. This leads to the ludicrous situation we find ourselves in where our "Christian" President (I place that in quotes because he has repeatedly failed to act in a Christian fashion, as well as the downright evil cabal that operate him) states that God has spoken to him, and he's doing God's work in trying to wipe out the Muslim extremists; yet, at the same time, these Muslims state they are following the word of Allah in attempting to wipe out the infidels. Where's the sense in this, when BOTH sides are saying they're being led by the SAME God??? How can they both be right? Both sides are equally convinced their religious interpretation is the correct one - and who can prove otherwise? So literally hundreds of thousands of innocent people die needlessly because of religion. It sickens me.

I don't think all religion is stupid, but frankly, I don't understand what terrible horror grips souls that turn to Jehovah/Allah. I know that prejudice, conversion by the sword, and inner stagnation are not the sole possession of the children of the Arab/Hebrew desert war god. But it sure does seem like it. Just take a look at how people are reacting to this nonsense in the Middle East. Do you see how excited fundamentalists of all Abrahamic stripes are that the End seems to be near? It's almost like they want World War III.

And honestly, what kind of religion is that?

Others have thought this too: You should read the whole story, it is very interesting..

Luk 16:22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
Luk 16:23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
Luk 16:24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
Luk 16:25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.

I try not to judge anything. Everything has it's purpose, whatever that may be. I believe that religion is imbalanced, it has created fear that's all. It has benefitted some while it has controlled others.

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

I tell you what will blow your mind.
When He speaks to you.
