I live on a little country road that has no speed limit signs and speeding vehicles slide off the road right in front of my house. I have two children and I don't even let them play in the front yard even when I am there with them.

City Hall or County Courthouse

It varies from city to city and county, or parish, but the department that maintains the roads should be able to answer your question. I would also suggest the police or sheriff's department for better patrolling.

If all else fails, try contacting your councilman, alderman, or county supervisor. They should have a better working knowledge of the local government and be able to point you in the right direction.

Remember, you pay taxes. These folks work for you, not the other way around.

"Slow Children at Play" signs are a bad idea. Drivers don't change their behavior. If parents/children feel safer they will be more inclined to take chances around the road. Roads are dangerous. Keep the kids out of the road.

It seems like you already have a good solution.

Is it a state highway or a county road? If the latter, call your county courthouse. If it is a state road, call the state highway department in your area.
