I couldn't read entirely some of the lengthy replies, but some good points were made here.

We have thinkers out there, and that's healthy!

Under present conditions, social change will never come about because too many are in what I call the "silent majority".

Although some of the replies suggest that they write letters to Congressmen and elected officials, there is a great divide among those elected to office and the general population.

I see this divide every single day, and I go home sickened from it.

The vast majority live in cramped living space and share high rental costs with strangers.

To change their living conditions, many opt for military duty.

This condtion came about due to the lack of good paying jobs.

Companies found ways in which to eliminate workers while fattening up the rich upper management executives.

The middle class is forced into the lower class, while the entire lower class now comprises about 80 % of the population, and they still vote.

The importance of that vote is not felt by all.

Electing from either party doesn't get the desired results, and in many ways, both politcal parties are identical.

What's needed now is people writing letters and demanding more equality with the few on top who have manipulated the lowly worker to their satisfaction, and rendered his work as virtually meaningless.

When workers go home to households with meager paychecks, this feeds on the breakdown of society in general, delivering all kinds of problems which we see more and more of in these times.

I ask for more equality among the citizens before we can go about tackling the problems of the world.

Charity should begin at home.

Thankyou.

I do not buy from known Republicans, that works for me. I buy from only Democrats. If I contract for any service I find out first if they are a Democrat and then give them the work, even if it's higher in cost.
It takes some work but I am willing to work some to make sure I don't give even a dime of mine to a Republican owned bussiness. Doctors and Lawyers are hard. Wall-Mart is also hard it's owned by Republicans. Sometimes I am forced to do evil with no other choice. It worked in South Africa.

Keep our minds open to possiblities, rather than becoming shut off and convinced of our own rightness.

Make educated choices about what we buy, how we live, who we vote for.

Talk to one another. Share our views, and think about other people's perspectives.

Act on the things we know we should, even if it means giving up something we want.

Start thinking long-term...as in, the world is going to be around for a long time, and I want it to be a good place for my descendants. No final massive all-life-destroying final conflagrations allowed.

There is the idea of creating peace one person at a time, starting with yourself.
Start by only putting out positive energy, then think about how to teach others to be positive.
Start in your community - research - does it need a walk in clinic, food pantry, day care center. Try to see what you can do to get things started. Contact civic leaders to see how you can promote their agenda - and they can promote yours.
Contact leaders of business and the media (think "RICH"). Have them promote your ideas.
Good luck. I wish I had your energy. I just donate money to charities that do what I believe in - Heifer International and Seva.

why do you have to ask such a hard question that even Einstein can't answer.

Write a letter to your congressman, and let him know about your concern or of your community concern. Better yet, get a petition with important people's signature on it to get the support you need, and then send your voice of your concern to your congress man.

I vote.
I write letters to my government offices and even call them when it is really important,
I think other people deserve their opinion, especially when it is horribly wrong, and I will fight to protect people who are being bullied or threaten. I don't steal and I raise responsible kids who understand right and wrong, and respect others opinions.

Don't be a drain on society yourself, and give money directly to people who need it - not to the UN, which is busy raping girls in the Sudan.
