Just so you know I try hard to be honest-I just see a lot of dishonestness. I wonder how everyone would answer.

Every time. However, you'll notice that when you lie, the good comes immediately. For instance, you want to go to a party where there will be on adults, and probably, therefore, drugs and booze. So, you tell them a lie and they let you go. But when you tell the truth, you get the bad immediately. You admit to your mom that there won't be any parents at your friend's party, and they don't let you go.

However, when you lie, the bad is alot worse, and it comes later. Your parents are mad at you when they find out (and they will), you get caught by the police, you get drumk or high and hurt yourself or someone else...

But the good is when your parnets find out that you were truthful, you don't get caught, they trust you more, you can do more things without them worrying...

It's nice that way.

So, yes. Every single time.

Yes. I understand that it does not seem to pay right away, in fact, it appears to do more harm than good. For example, if you did something at your jobsite that would cause you to get fired, you need to tell your boss regardless. Understand that you will, most likely, get fired as a result. But, your honesty will pay off in the end, perhaps you will find a better job than the one you got fired from! God rewards those who are honest, trust me, you will see it come back to you ten times fold! Just be patient, it takes time. There will be a reward waiting for you in heaven as well. God bless!

If you need to ask that question, you need to do some soul searching. It seems like today people live in a way that benefits them--even if it means lying, stealing, cheating. . .

I once had a friend who stole a stereo system and rationalized it by saying, "I needed it more than he did."

HELLO. . .!!!!!!!

God hardwired His value system into us. I'ts called a conscience. Yes, a conscience can be seared, meaning that one has sunk to such a moral low that it no longer works.

Your conscience is obviously still alive and well. You know what is right and what is wrong. I think you are simply looking for validation to do what you know is right.

taking your question from the opposite side....take a look at the top people in Enron, and look what happened to them because they were dishonest. A lot of people were hurt (and caused business people to be distrustful), and they hurt themselves.

On another note, if you are dishonest on your resume you get the privilege of getting your exit papers and being embarassed in front of your peers.

May not pay in this life but sure will in the next. We are storing up our treasure in Heaven so when we are honest here, it is adding to the treasure there as we are doing what God would want rather than what Satan wants. So yes, it does pay.

Many people think that living dishonestly is the life. They all think that until they get caught. If you've been living honestly, don't worry. Someone will notice, and even if you don't notice that someone noticing, you should feel good knowing that you're doing the right thing.

Proverbs 10:22 The blessing of God/YHWH-that is what makes rich, and he adds no pain with it.

Matthew 6:33 Keep on, then, seeking first the kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

no. Ask any "REAL" ( I had to qualify it) Christian who has been in business. An honest man can not make a living in this world. He must work for someone else.

The Bible says that we should deal honestly with our fellow men plus it says that God hates Liars and that is what you are doing if you are not honest.
