Thought you might enjoy this interesting prayer given in Kansas at the opening session of their Senate. It seems prayer still upsets some people. When Minister Joe Wright was asked to open the new session of the Kansas Senate, everyone was expecting the usual generalities, but this is what they heard:

"Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance.

We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those who call evil good,' but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values. We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery. We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare. We have killed our unborn and called it choice. We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable. We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self-esteem. We have abused power and called it politics. We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition. We have polluted the air

with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of _expression We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.

Search us, Oh, God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and set us free. Amen!"

The response was immediate. A number of legislators walked out during the prayer in protest! In 6 short weeks, Central Christian Church, where Rev.Wright is pastor, logged more than 5,000 phone calls with only 47 of those calls responding negatively. The church is now receiving international requests for copies of this prayer from India, Africa and Korea.

Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on his radio program, "The Rest of the Story," and received a larger response to this program than any other he has ever aired.

With the Lord's help, may this prayer sweep over our nation and wholeheartedly become our desire so that we again can be called "one nation under God."

If possible, please pass this prayer on to your fr

I believe in the separation of church and state. And how dare this minister purport to speak on behalf of God? It's not even like every holy person agrees with him. What, is HE the one that has the direct connection to God and no one else?

We'll run into the same problems as other regions whose governments are run by religious dogma. It's scary.

This guy is just opinionated. He shouldn't try to legitimize his opinions by bringing God in and acting like he somehow represents the accurate views of God. I'm pretty sure God is too busy in the middle eastern affairs to care what words a minister uses to the Kansas senate.

What the heck is the Kansas senate doing bringing religion into their affairs anyway. Shame on them. They should all be canned.

Consider it sent as it has been already. Good that someone has the courage to stand up and call a spade a spade. Too many lily livered pantywaists are running around complaining about how bad it is and yet when it comes to standing up and speaking the truth or coming up with a solution, they want to molly coddle the perpetrator of the crimes. Like the immigration debaucle that so many want to give them amnesty and have those that break the law before they come in this country and even to get here, stay here and reward them not with jail time as they deserve, but with citizenship. No wonder the world is in such a state with nobody willing to stand up and tell it like it is. Somebody wants to break the law, put them in jail or deport them and then do not let them back in. If they want to kill someone, they need to give their lives for those they took and stop giving all the rights to the perpetrator of the crime. The death penalty is so cruel and they should not suffer at all. Did they worry about the victim that they should not suffer, or the family of those victims? So why should all the bleeding hearts be so interested in the perpetrator's comfort instead of thinking about the victim for a change? They chose to kill so why not give them the same swift justice they gave the victim with the same kind of death? Stop the coddling of the perpetrators and the crime would go way down. We need more like this brave preacher that will speak out the truth for a change.

I think that the Minister is right on target. And if I was the one who was asked to pray at a Senate meeting, I would pray the very same thing. As a nation, we have done everything that the minister has said. I am proud to know that there are people who will stand up for their convictions.

THE SNEEZE

They walked in tandem, each of the ninety-two students filing into the already crowded auditorium. With rich maroon gowns flowing and the traditional caps, they looked almost as grown-up as they felt.

Dads swallowed hard behind broad smiles, and Moms freely brushed away tears.

This class would not pray during the commencements----not by choice, but because of a recent court ruling prohibiting it.

The principal and several students were careful to stay within the guidelines allowed by the ruling. They gave
inspirational and challen! ging spe eches, but no one mentioned divine guidance and no one asked for blessings on the graduates or their families.

The speeches were nice, but they were routine.....until the final speech received a standing ovation.

A solitary student walked proudly to the microphone. He stood still and silent for just a moment, and then, it happened.
All 92 students, every single one of them, suddenly SNEEZED!!!!

The student on stage simply looked at the audience and said, " GOD BLESS YOU, each and every one of you!" And he walked off stage...

The audience exploded into applause. The graduating class found a unique way to invoke God's blessing on their future with or without the court's approval.

Isn't this a wonderful story? Pass it on to all your friends.........and

GOD BLESS YOU!!!!

In God We Trust, United We Stand.

This is a true story; happened at the University of Maryland. It's inspiring.

Thank You for passing on this awesome prayer. It is so full of truth. All I can say is Wow. It is good to know that there are people with that kind of conviction and not be afraid to speak it in public. I feel bad for those who walked out. They may be rejecting the Lord how sad. again I say Thank You

Conviction - hitting the nail right on the head with the hammer of truth.

I remember hearing about this, we need more people to step up to the plate.

Note some of the legislature walking out, they couldn't take it anymore. That room must have been thick with conviction.

That is awesome. That is exactly what needs to happen. When the government submits itself under God's will that is really the only way our nation and other nations will change for good. Thanks for the prayer. Have a good day. God Bless

I agree with it, honestly. However, I think the reason a lot of the legislators left was because they were convicted and wanted the prayer to be there to make them feel good...which it didn't.

I wish there were some way that could become our "National Prayer" if there were such a thing. Thank you so much for posting it.
