Half to free a nation and half to gain oil rights. Not that the American people will benefit from it.

No, not really, not that I can see. Bad as Saddam was, it now appears that we may have killed more Iraqis than he did. And women, in general, were better off under him than under the right-wing Sharia guys that seem to be taking over now. Even Afghanistan is falling apart, the Taliban is making a comeback and our troops seem to be spending more time fighting the poppy crop than liberating the populace from the Taliban.

The only freedom I see from this war is that it has allowed Bush to be FREE to do whatever he wants to our constitutional rights & freedoms.

In Iraq we freed the Iraqi people from a dictator. We also helped the Kurds who lived in the northern part of the country.

And in Afghanistan we freed them as well, from the Taliban and OBL.

Doing that may be the best result of the wars. There won't be fighting forever, when it finally does stop the world will be a little bit better.

Yes I think this war is to free the Middle East of all their oil and money.

The war we are in is to keep the defense industry busy and satisfy our President's vain wish to be a War President.

When will we learn to keep our noses out of other countries business?

I am convinced of it. Mr. Bush and his cronies attempt to free the United States of such inconvenient things like democrazy and free speech and to free the media of unwanted news. This way, the citizens won't have to bother anymore about human rights violations committed by the USA abroad, or about restrictions of their own civil rights. This way, they will be free to enjoy this beautiful summer!

Oops... misread the question the first time.

No, originally we weren't in this to free anyone, however, that has somehow become our goal along the way.

Isn't it funny that before elections, Mr. Bush said he would be doing 'no nation building'?

I'd say yes since they have many more freedoms than they did a few years ago. Have you not paid attention to any news reports of how these people were treated verses now?
