It is impossible for us to comprehend the fact that he can hear everyone at the same time. God purposefully made our brains to process only a certain amount of info. Fortunately, he has God-like powers (err...yeah) and he can listen to everyone and what they have to say. Just like he knows everything that is goning on in the world at once. He knows that I'm typing this while he knows exactly what I'm going to write next, the exact moment I will push the keys down, and all the while do the exact same thing to six billion other people.

So, yes it is hard for us to comprehend that he can possibly do all this. You just have to have faith that he listening to your prayers, because he is. He isn't only listening to them, he is fulfilling them. Just not always the way you expect. Trust in him and you'd really be surprised what could happen.

The problem with your question is it presuposes that everyone is on the same page about what "god" is. Unfortunately, whenever a question such as yours is asked, people automatically refer to the judeo-christian god concept, thereby limiting the scope of the debate. The god concept transcends, by very much, what christians and other abrahamic religions bring to the discussion.
When amplified, the god concept becomes appealing even to some who pass as atheists or agnostics.
Having said all that, I am of the opinion that whether or not there is a god is for individuals to resolve for themselves. No one can convince the other of any god. The god experience is personal in so far as its veracity is concerned.
Proponents of a god, especially the abrahamic religions paint the picture of a big father sitting somewhere in the heavens and micromanaging our lives. I can see why you or anyone would have a problem with that.
Atheists,on the other hand, would like you to believe that humanity is just biology and that anything that is not tangibly provable is not worth your consideration. Well, the problem there is, we know too much now to know that we are more than the naked eye can see. And experiments in quantum physics have begun to unravel things even science thought absurd just a few years ago. Einstein, in his wisdom, was able to recognize that "not all that can be counted matters and not all that matters can be counted."
I would suggest you amplify your concept, look at the contemplative religions even as you explore the unadulterated aspects of the ones you are familiar with. Make up your mind for yourself. Don't depend on what anyone tells you. It is my observation that people want to resolve the god question on their terms and by that I mean sitting on their couch in front of the television and so, without any inquiry, they come to the conclusion that there is no god. They can hardly be taken seriously. Start from what you know for sure and explore from there. The Creative Principle of the Universe has ITS way of revealing Itself to sincere seekers. God is just Its poetic name!

Everyone has a god of one sort or another. Whatever you hold to be most important to you is your god. Now, God, with a capital G, is another question. I have myself encountered this Existent Being (no, not Jesus, I suppose the one you would call the Father), and with what little I could comprehend, I would not believe that s/he/it could be limited. All I can say for sure is that s/he/it is real, infinitely loving, and more powerful than any of us could possibly comprehend. I'm sure your prayers and everyone else's prayers are heard. I just don't know what s/he/it does about them.

What you said right there is a very good example of how amazing our God is. He has enough love for everyone in the entire universe!! If you are sinscere and talk to God, He WILL hear every single word you say. It sounds like you are just begining to learn about God, thats great!!! another person to know about Him YAYAYAY!!!! Yeah, just be still and know that there is a God and that He is able to lay His glorious hand upon each and every one of us. just begin prayer, and know that he hears you, begin with praying about things that are heavy on your heart as they are most likely the most important, and as you pray more and more to Him, you will begin to recognize when He anwers your prayer. You would really get alot from finding a good Church to make your home, attending Sunday School and Services there will enable you to learn alot more about God. and if you try a Church but go home disappointed, it means that you don't really belong there. don't quit though!! this is what alot of people do and just ends up pulling them farther away from God, just try another Church. you will find one that God brought you to, and when you do, you will know. 1st try going with one of your closest friend that has found a church home, being your close friend, he will probably look for the same things in a Church Family. Good luck!!! I'll be praying for you too, God deffinitely wants to make you aware of His presence!

There is a God and some people should realize that there is. He is the real explanation to how we are here. How would rocks crashing on the universe turn into people. It is all explained in the Bible read it. To add more to it read Revalations and it explains everything thats going on now and whats going to happen. It shows about the Twin towers, it shows about the fighting thats going on right now. Its fully explained. I really am not a Guru I'm a Christian and I will let you test me to my full ability and I will answer all I can. But, I am justified by the holy bible The King James Version. Thanks

God is omnipresent, unlimited, beyond our comprehension.

Also take trip with me on this one...................

Go back as far you possible can to the beginning.....you can only go so far until you can take on of two paths,....the first is that matters came into existence on its own SUPERNATURALLY because it is not natural for things to spawn its own self from nothing.. The second path is that a supernatural forever existing God created the magnificent thing you see with yours today, the magnificent brain you use to hear, see, reason, and even contemplate your own existence. There are only two paths and both are supernatural, and unless matter has a mind of its own, well then i think a supernatural God makes more sense.

Yes--don't try to intellectualize it. He is omnipotent, don't worry, Pray and He will hear you in spite of "that stupid wedding". God always answers our prayers -- not always the way we want them answered, but we must accept God's will instead of insisting on our own. God Bless.

I believe that there is God, but who can ever say for sure, like you can say that 2+2=4, with out the slightest trace of doubt? No one doubts arithmetic because it can be understood with simple logical reasoning that everyone can agree upon and can be easily understood with the mind. God cannot be proved or disproved by either scientific or religious arguments, God is a matter of simple belief or non-belief. Either you believe it or you don't.
